We felt like we were on a lush island not in the middle of busy Houston! This is an outstanding place to stay. Our room overlooked lush terrain and the huge window with high ceilings made this a outstanding location. The only reason I don't give it a five star is because it needs a little facelift. Will go again... More

Spent the night here last night for our wedding anniversary which I'm certain I made known when I'd reserved this hotel. No mention of this special occasion was made known during any part of our stay so no room upgrades or anything like that which I had secretly hoped for. We self parked in the garage which was somewhat horrid.... More

I spent 8 nights at the Houstonian Hotel. I go Houston at least once a year (for the past 10 years) and usually try a different hotel every time. The Houstonian is a good hotel, with excellent services and a great club -- the outdoor jogging track is very nice too. The location is indeed relaxing and beautiful. The bed... More

I've stayed at The Houstonian around 50 times in the past 10 years, and more and more I feel like The Houstonian is my home-away-from-home in Houston. First, the grounds are beautiful and far from anything you will find at other hotels in the area. Second, the rooms have been updated in the past few years and are truly top-notch.... More

Great location! In between two infamous Houston locales --- Memorial Park and The Galleria. The Houstonian is quietly situated away from city madness and secluded amongst the pines and post oak trees. It's a low-rise hotel spread out with a beautiful pool area and padded jogging track around the premises. They were beginning some construction on the gym so call... More

We enjoyed our stay, but it really was like being transported back to the '80s. The decor and atmosphere had a very well-maintained, but dated feel. The room was comfortable, and the location is good. The valet service can use some help...they were very disorganized, and a couple of times, even though we called down, we ended up waiting outside... More

My husband was on business down in Houston, so we decided to accompany him. We stayed here with two kids, age 5 and 7. This is a very nice hotel. Very quiet. Maybe too quiet for 2 young kids! I felt like people could hear my kids being loud out in the hallway. The doors were a little thin. We... More

Dear Christy2376, Thank you for writing a review regarding your recent stay at the Houstonian. I am pleased to know you and your family were able to enjoy the pool together. The reason you were led an inconvenient way to the pool was due to an unanticipated incident requiring immediate emergency repair to some of our rooms. All is now... More

Pros: 1. Shaded. Love that this resort is shorter than the trees around it - which means shades everywhere! I love that since it's very hot here in Texas. 2. I really like the cushioned jogging path around the property. Again, about 80% of this path is shaded. 3. You have complimentary access to their sports club. Not all are... More

I stayed for 9 nights and enjoyed it a lot. The deco and ambience is soothing and relaxing. Room service is good. Staff are helpful and friendly. There is a spa in the complex which is convenient and great. It's popular so please book in advance. Will definitely come back.

Exactly the reason I chose the Houstonian. Excellent service, very comfortable and clean room. This was just the weekend we need to relax and unwind. Access to the Trellis Spa and the Houstonian Gym facility. The running track was great (padded one miler). All-in-all I could not have asked for more.
