It may not be the best Hilton, but excellent location for business travel to the medical center and/or Rice University. Free shuttle to anywhere within 2 miles.
Shuttle driver said to get a "deal" for me when I needed a taxi to airport, but in fact the taxi charge was higher than that should be metered.
Free breakfast for Gold/Diamond...

Rice University put me up at this hotel since it was close to the university. My impression of it was that this is the Hilton so it should be good. The truth was not so great. The halls made me feel like I was in a hospital and the rooms, although big, were very dark. They really need more light...

We had a nice stay at the Hilton Plaze (also called Hilton Medical Center) It is within walking distance to a few delis and Starbucks.
We had a nice King suite and the beds were very comforable. I had requested some strawberries and fruit upon our arrival and to my delight, they were already in the room.
We ordered room...

We just returned from our first trip to Houston, TX. We stayed at the Houston Hilton Medical Plaza Hotel. Some was good some was bad...so now
THE GOOD: Room was spacious (King Standard Room) with a very nice Kitchenette type of area with small sink, large mirror and medium size refrigerator. Made for eating breakfast in the room very easy...

We had a wonderful stay in Houston with the family. I got to meet Britt the GM, great guy. We were in town for my wife's birthday visiting from New Orleans. At the desk was Forest...he was there all the time or out in the lobby. He is happy to assist. We stayed in a 2 room suite on the...

Our regular hotel was booked and this was closest Hilton property to use my points. You need to look carefully at it's location to find it easily. It's on a 'non traffic' part of Travis St., block west of Main. I found the signage a bit confusing and wound up trapped in the parking (front desk came and 'rescued' us)....

Tripadvisor calls this the Hilton Houston Plaza hotel, which is probably the official name. It could also be titled the Hilton Houston Medical Center. It is the closest Hilton to all the large Houston hospitals, including the following: Texas Childrens Hosp, Methodist, U.T. and Herman, Baylor Coll., TIRR/UT Dental, M.D. Anderson Clinic/Hosp, St. Luke's, MDAnderson Mays/ CPB Clinic, Proton Clinic,...

Thank you! You described our location and everything surrounding us perfectly. The elevators are keyed for safety. I have passed on your comments regarding your guestroom key to the appropriate managers. Thank you for your business and hope to see you again soon.

Instead of staying with the crew at a host hotel during my last trip, I tried to earn some extra points with Hilton. Sadly, this was not a good experience for me.
The hotel is located in the medical district downtown and may have been attached to a medical facility of some kind. Location is good but parking- not so...

While we do share the garage with the professional building next door, the parking elevators provide easy access to the lobby from each floor. I will address with the department managers your particular comments regarding your food and beverage experience and departure. Thank you for staying with us.

The hotel is a bit outdated but it is close to Rice and not far from MD Anderson. They have a car service that brings you to museums or hospitals every 30 minutes. Breakfast does not have many choices, but it is ok. The air conditioning is a bit noisy. You can easily listen to people of your next room...

Thank you for your comments. We are constantly looking at ways to improve the guest experience throughout the hotel. We are in the process of making several changes to enhance our morning food and beverage experience.
