The Marriott Medical Center Houston needs first aid of its own. Major construction zone, horrible staff and well I might add the worst overall experience. The only reason to stay here is if you have a patient in CRITICAL condition at Methodist Hospital (adjacent). There are literally 25 better hotels in a few miles radius and you'll be much happier... more

Great experience! I have two children and wanted an indoor pool because of the cool weather. Since no pictures of the pool were posted, I was a little uneasy about it. I didn't need to worry- the indoor pool/ hot tub were large and clean and my kids and I really enjoyed it. The room was very clean, sound proof... more

I stayed two nights here and was struck by the extreme courtesy and efficiency of all of the staff. Admittedly I booked through a travel agency and received a room with no view and outside construction work continued until 9 pm, but was paying half the rack rate. Everywhere was spotless and the staff clean, polite and attentive. The food... more

Stayed for two nights in order to visit Rice University. The Hotel shuttle service took us to Rice and back numerous times with less than five minutes notice...tipping the drivers didn't cost me anymore than paying for parking at Rice would have. The Shuttle service was extremely busy in this location but always courteous. I wish I had not rented... more

I stayed at the Marriott Medical Center during a very worrisome surgery performed on my father. For this reason, location was paramount, price secondary. On that score this hotel is an A-plus. Houston in August is very hot, but I was able to use the walkways to get to MD Anderson for his cancer surgery and my many return visits.... more

Sure, it is "just" another Marriott. I spend way too much time in Marriotts! But, they try a little harder here. They have recently finished renovating their lobby and it looks very open and modern. There is now a Starbucks to one side. There are nice touches like aromatic lotions, and water containing fruits by the elevator. They have been... more

First thing is that this Marriott is confused with another that has "Residence Inn" in its title. One of the pictures at this site shows the hotel with a large reflecting pond near it. This is not that one. This hotel is surrounded by hospitals and is opposite the tram. I stayed two nights for a consult at MD Anderson.... more

I stayed here in June 2008 while on business with Texas Children's Hospital. The location is supremely convenient to the Medical Center - I only had to walk a block to get to TCH - and a tram line passes directly in front of the hotel. The lobby of the hotel is surprisingly spartan and clinical looking, which made me... more

I stayed as a Katrina evacuee. I checked in late Sept., 05, and I was "checked out" early Oct., 05. Unbelievably, this hotel had me arrested. A Somali or Ethiopian woman working in the gift shop falsely accused me of threatening to "cut her head off". I kid you not. (Apparently in retaliation for my earlier refusing to vacate the... more

This review is based on a five-night stay in March 2008 by a business traveller who frequents Marriott-branded and Hilton-branded hotel properties. Overall: the hotel is okay for what you're paying; it meets the standard full Marriott level of expectation for cleanliness and service. It is clearly an older hotel that was renovated relatively recently. Pros: + soft beds. +... more
