This is a good business hotel, and is exceptional at getting the job done for business travelers. If you are on vacation, I might not recommend this hotel unless you are just looking for a one nighter in downtown. Almost every restaurant in downtown closes after 5 PM so you are left with very few dining choices in reasonable walking... more

We just checked out of this hotel yesterday morning after a 1 night stay to watch the Cubs whoop the Astros. The BIGGEST problem was all the extra things they put on my card. This room was already paid for through priceline back in May. Upon arrival they asked for my ccard for incidentals. They ended up charging me for... more

I stayed at Doubletree Downtown Houston while attending a conference. The rooms were average as was the customer service. The breakfast buffet was not good for the price paid. There was no wireless internet in the room, only in the lobby area. The rooms were wired with ethernet cords only. There aren't many restaurants in the area and those nearby... more

I am a frequent business travel, and use the Hilton family of hotels almost every stay. This hotel was clean and comfortable. When I got in my room was ready and I was greeted with a warm chocolate chip cookie. Due to my level in the points program, I usually get an upgrade but instead was given free continental breakfast.... more

Nice big room with a comfy king bed and a great view of Houston. Room service was great, airport shuttle too. The loud wedding was luckily 18 floors below. Not far from Montrose area. Overall a great value though downtown needs a bit more services/nightlife on the weekend. more

This is a very solid business hotel located right in the heart of Houston's business district. I agree with some of the reviews here - Houston can be a ghost town at night but, that's the case with many other major North American cities but you really don't need to go out of your way to find good food and... more

This hotel is definitely not recommended - horrible service, unresponsive and condescending staff. I am an event planner and selected this hotel for my group while attending Microsoft's WPC event in July 08. My door kept locking several times during the first day and staff was extremely condescending when I told them it wouldn't open - they blamed it on... more

My family of 5 stayed at Double Tree for the National Karate Tourament. Rest of our group stayed at Hyatt. Comparing notes, my family got the better deal. We received great rate through AAA (average $100 per night plus tax and parking) The cookies were a nice treat. Our kids received cookies many times (Suggest that they give cookies without... more

BE AWARE!!!! This hotel will hit you will fees for changing your reservation for any reason, charge you a fee for valet service if you check out early and try to charge you for services you did not even use. They will also jack up your hotel rate without telling you. Stay at the Lancaster instead. more

I used to stay here often when I worked for a client in downtown Houston. The only thing good about this hotel is its location (convenient location in the Houston business center). Other than that, I have nothing good to say about this hotel. This is an average American business-class hotel, average in every sense of the word. Characterless, no... more
