I booked this place sight-unseen through Travelocity. Big mistake. The grounds looked awful when I arrived. The lobby had several people just hanging around, smoking, watching TV, eyeing me when I turned my back. (I'm a bodyguard, so I watch people in reflections.) The clerk said my room number aloud.

My first "nonsmoking" room smelled of cigarettes and antiseptic. It had no smoke alarm. I went back for another room. It had the same conditions, plus a sink plugged with butts. I tried to get used to the place and took a shower. When I turned the TV on, I got hardcore porn, no warnings.

The bed sagged in the middle. The sheets and mattress bore cigarette burns.

I spent the night at a friend's house. I complained to Travelocity, but they haven't done anything but assure me they're working on a refund. more
