I was in Houston, TX for Business a week ago and I stayed at the Hotel Derek. I like that the hotel was an modern and that it is hip for younger people. It reminded me of staying at a W Hotel (from Starwood Hotels) but somewhat more cost effective. Very trendy Hotel with good food and great customer service.... More

There is no other Hotel in Houston that will satisfy your every need. It welcomes business, family, and Romance!! I've visited several other Hotels and this one just about tops them all. When we visit Houston There is never a question about where we are going to stay

I normally don't write "reviews", because frankly, not much sparks me these days...except honest people that want to help! Alas, I have found a new spark! Hotel Derek, in Houston! From the well decorated lobby, to the private courtyard pool, to Aurturo at the bar, everyone was/is perfect! I asked for a high floor, king bed. Without batting an eye,... More

So we stayed here when it was $99 per night--pretty reasonable, I'd say. The trendy lobby with random cows staged gives you the feel of Texas chic. Here's the kicker-- you have to pay for a nightly parking fee. It is $20 for an inconvenient self-park or $28 for valet. We chose the self-park, but found ourselves on the 8th... More

The hotel and the room was very good. No problems with A/C, bedding or media. The only issues I had was the bathroom door didn't move well and the WiFi kept dropping out. I went for breakfast once, the food was lovely, apart from the sausages were quite cold. I would easily come back to this hotel.

Bed was super uncomfortable. Having to use your door card every time you got in elevator was a nuisance and I saw multiple people taking rides to the top floors because they couldn't get their card out on time. Not a particularly friendly staff either. Also, there was loud banging/construction on my floor that started at around 8:30am... No thanks.

A very quirky place to stay, but it did seem a bit forced somehow. Also, the low bed with the slightly too small mattress resulted in me cracking my shin in the night during a wander to the bathroom, both there and back! Decent service in the bar, but the obvious proliferation around the foyer and bar of "escorts" was... More

I honestly don't even know where to begin. I have never experienced a hotel staff so amazing as this one. I felt not only welcomed but valued from the moment we arrived till the moment we departed. We brought our dog and even he received a gift bag full of treats and FIDO magazine! What a great touch! The entire... More

Loved Hotel Derek! Stayed twice in the past month! Conveniently located, plus hotel itself has a Starbucks, and great restaurant. (Hangover burger is a must have) only downside is rooms are adjoined, and one night we had noisy neighbors. Other than that, all other nights were peaceful, clean, and service is excellent. If you stay during the week, they have... More

Loved this Hotel! The location is just fabulously located in the Galleria close to all shopping and restaurants. The hotel beautiful clean well maintained...the swimming pool is decorated with great sofa lounge chairs and great color schemes and truly loved the cowboy movies shown 24 hours...so Texan! The Parking crew guys were awesome and attentive, got our car when we... More
