We were referred here from the good folks at the Lovett Inn where we have stayed in the past. The owners are kind, generous, attentive people who have sunk a lot of money into a old house on a busy street near dance clubs and bars. Unfortunately, the place could use a lot more help: A broken grandfather clock in the sitting room, semi-exposed wires in the bedrooms, a shower with a hand-held nozzle that couldn't be held high enough to provide a good shower in one room, a shower in which the curtain couldn't prevent water from spewing everywhere in another, the hole in the floor in the room where we were staying, and the over all random decor (a book on the Back Street Boys on a marble top table?!?!). Expecting something as charming and comfortable as the Lovett Inn, our first night in this slightly ram-shackle place was disquieting (and the noise from the bar across the street didn't help). After getting to know the owners our second night was actually pleasant. more
