I love B&Bs and this one was great! Everything here is a M-C original or the owner/artist has painted it herself to match! It is an overload of color/pattern but that's what I love. Robin and her staff were friendly and helpful; breakfast was not elaborate but delicious; our room upstairs in main house was huge and quiet. The house... More

I love old houses, it is hard to see the old with all of the paint and decor. After my initial shock, I started to appreciate the place. Beds were comfortable, place was quiet with only one other room rented during the week. I had a private bath with Cecilia's room, good shower and plumbing. They asked for special needs... More

I was recently in Houston with my best friend for a long, summer weekend. We stayed inside Beverly's Tree House- & it was perfect for our needs! The room is located upstairs in a brick building with a private entrance from a side street. The location is west of the lobby/breakfast area- at the end of the block with a... More

I am not, as a rule, a B&B person. The chaotic decorating, endless knickknack collection, ceramic cats … not my style. But I enjoyed my three day stay. It was the FULL - two ceramic cats in my room and a total of 29 knickknacks (I counted) - B&B experience but the rooms are large, the bed was firm and... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for the heads up. I am grateful for your feedback. I don't like too many nonessential items in a room either, especially in an 1890 Victorian. It reminds me of an old Hitchcock movie. Cats be damned, they'll have to spread out . . . and I'll take a hard look at everything else. Come back... More

Stayed here for 4 days and was a great exsperience. The one thing i like about B+B is that each one is diffrent and this one surely meets this qualfication. It is also located in the museum district and within walking distance of so much. Had to goto Rice university allot so if were not walking rented bike and got... More

Upon arrival at designated check-in time, nobody answered the locked door. We had to call and leave a voicemail and waited on the porch for about ten minutes. We received a call back and the owner asked if I was visiting with my sister. I was with my husband and our daughter for our five year anniversary and it appeared... More

This is a place the owner has laid her heart in - we felt that from the second we arrived. Such a friendly and charming athmosphere. There is not a single detail in this house that is not an experience in itself. We come from Norway and stayed with two boys (2 and 5) for two nights. We had the... More

Was really impressed by my stay at Robin's Nest! The room was comfortable, private, and very clean. Staff was very friendly. It's a B&B, so it's supposed to feel like you're staying in a comfortable guest room, and I really did. Had a lovely time chatting with other guests during breakfast, which was delicious. Great coffee! Whimsical decoration and friendly... More

Robin runs a great B&B, all rooms are different and lavishly decorated, Robin designed all of this herself. Breakfast is very good, fresh and tasty. Breakfast is taken at a huge table with all the other guests, table is setout with a most impressive selection of plates, cups and silverware. Would definitely go here again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Robin's Nest consists of three houses setting side by side (The Big Nest, an 1890 Victorian Farm house; The Little Nest, a 1920s Craftsman, and the Third Nest, a 1938 Southern Saltbox), in Houston's Museum and Arts District, also called Montrose; adjacent to downtown Houston and the Texas Medical Center. We serve a full or continental breakfast. We were voted Audience Winner by Citisearch and best B & B in Houston by Houston Press. We welcome children and pets. The rules are the same: We ask that they be clean, groomed, pest free, and well behaved. Several suites are suitable for long term stays. Robin created Robin's Nest in 1990 after another Houston oil bust. There have been numerous articles on the Inn, among them The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Houston Post, Houston Chronicle, Texas Monthly, Southern Living, Houston Press. Come see us in the heart of Houston. You are welcome. ... more   less
