The Gaylord Texan is known for its holiday lights and decorations. Even if you do not stay a night here, you should at least visit this hotel for your kids will definitely enjoy it. Santa and Mrs. Claus are there along with live reindeer. As for the stay, we had an upgraded room where we had nicer furniture, larger bathroom,... More

Enjoyed the stay along with the Christmas theme, but I will agree with others, that the hidden fees were a total ripoff. There was more parking available by the front entrance of the hotel than apparently most realized. We had a walking distance of less than 200 feet to the front door. After arriving there we took the shuttle instead... More

This Gaylord facility, like others I've been at, follows the theme of having everything under one roof, a great part of the roof being glass (as one friend said, it's like you're in a giant terrarium). The hotel is fairly near the airport but not near anything else. You're not in Dallas, and you're not in Fort Worth. You're not... More

The hotel is very beautiful, but the rooms are average. It is very spread-out, so be prepared to do a LOT of walking. The reason I will not stay there again are the ridiculous "resort fee" and self-parking charges. I would much rather they just charged a little more for the room and not spring these charges on you as... More

Overall, the hotel is 4 star in appearance but certainly not in the service. The first bad sign was that we had to wait an hour during early check in to park our car. The parking line was to the main street when 3 pm came! we were glad for our little wait time! The lot for guests was full... More

Beautiful resort, with enclosed mega-atrium to protect from weather (came in handy with cold rainy spell while we were there). Very nice fitness center. Enjoyed the Mexican restaurant on site: good food though pricey. The big drawback for this hotel is the "extra fees", not mentioned when we made the reservation. The "mandatory daily resort fee" of $15 and the... More

Check in: The check in was fast, and even though we arrived early our room was ready Room: We opted for a tower room. Ours was on the 9th floor and was large and nicely decorated. The only problem was the pillows-- they were uncomfortable and left both myself and my husband with sore necks. Amenities: The resort fee that... More

This is a great hotel if you have $$$ to spend for food and entertainment. I went as a part of a business meeting and most everything was paid for by my company but if I were to go here for a family trip I would probably find somewhere else in the metroplex to stay. You can get fair roommates... More

My husband and I wwere wanting a nice weekend getaway and we chose Grapevine, Texas. It's close to home (we're about an hour away) and had heard that historic Grapevine was a fun spot. I called the Gaylord Texan to reserve two nights (Friday and Saturday) and was quoted a rate of $159.00 per night. When we checked in late... More

Gordon from TX @ front desk was wonderful: attentive, informative, personable, terrific! Stayed in rm# 8105. Wonderful atrium view from room's balcony. (Already decorated for Christmas). Didn't have to pay for wi-fi in hotel room (it was mentioned that someone paid $15/day in earlier post). Room was lovely, spacious, x-large bath products, good size bathroom (towels a bit scratchy).
