we stayed at Wildcatter for 3 nights as part of a Texas road trip with our friends. Each couple had a cabin and they were very authentic right down to the rocking chair on the porch. The cabins were fully equipped with everything you would find in a modern hotel room. My illusion of sitting in the rocking chair on... More

The biggest disappointment is that the steakhouse is "no longer affiliated with" the resort, which means that two of the three nights we stayed here, the only dining option was closed. We went into the town for dinner, which was ok, but not part of our expectations of a "resort getaway". We have stayed in the cabins before, and they... More

We spent 2 nights at Wildcatter with our 2 kids (1 & 4 years in age) in mid-May. It must have been off-season because there weren't many people there, and there weren't many waitstaff there. We were going to just relax and enjoy being outdoors, and it's good because the Ranch operated at a relaxed pace while we were there.... More

We visited this weekend, and it was excellently amazing!!! From the ambiance of the room to the breathtaking views throughout the ranch. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary, but it was a surprise getaway for him. I navigated along the entire trip, without telling him the cities we would pass through or the final destination. From pulling in... More

I stayed at the Ranch for two days this April, it wasn't nearly long enough. I had booked a cabin which was overflowing with rustic charm. The whole setting was idyllic, especially with the dogs frolicking around. I would strongly recommend feeding the Longhorns if you visit. But mind Big Red, he's a bit of a character. We went skeet... Spent 3 nights at the ranch over spring break. The beauty of the location and quality of the resort exceeded our expectations! Cowboy experts, Clint and Jay, are perfect ambassadors for both the ranch and Texas. Service was a little slow at the restaurant as it was off season, but the food was wonderful when it arrived. They could use... More

I went to Wildcatter Ranch with my fiance in April, and we stayed for three nights. What a fabulous place! We stayed in a cabin room, which was huge, and had rocking chairs on the porch. Beautiful view into the wild from the window, and we really felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. Every morning we went... More

The staff is so mismanaged. The policies change depending on who you speak to. Yes, the ranch is ascetically pleasing to some, it's certainly nothing that is life changing. I was so disappointed with my stay and I would highly recommend not wasting your money because the staff will ruin your trip.

Recently went to the Wildcatter for a business retreat. I stayed in one of the cabins and it was great. Loved the fireplace and rustic setting. Meeting space in the Great Hall was large and well appointed. Our group opted for a circle around the fireplace for a casual meeting setting. Worked well, but the chairs could have been more... More

This place is truly amazing. Accommodation is beautiful, so many activities to choose from and can never get bored. The restaurant is highly recommended and has amazing views of the vast landscape. Very remote in terms of location, however that was the best part of being there. People were extremely friendly and helpful. This is a must for the true... More
