Stayed here in the Hummingbird room for 1 night after our tour. It was wonderful. There was only one other room rented that night and they were upstairs. We had the place to ourselves for most of the day. Just outside the fence, animals are grazing everywhere. The inside of the lodge is very spacious and beautiful. Our room was... More

We had a wonderful experience staying in the safari "tents." They're air conditioned and have bathrooms with showers. Great atmosphere. Delicious dinner and breakfast in glass enclosed pavillion. Great views of animals from the tent area. Really good place to stay.

We booked two "tents" for two families, both with kids. The lodge staff did a great job providing us with nearby tents. It was cold outside but the rooms were perfect. This is our second time at the lodge and third time in Fossil Rim. We totally enjoyed our stay. The dinner and breakfast were both splendid. It was important... More

We took a family trip with friends including a total of 8 adults and two children. We rented every room in the lodge which provided an exceptional a family experience. We had breakfast at the Pavilion both days which was included, and they prepared a special dinner which helped us celebrate a memorable birthday. Driving to and from the Pavilion... More

If it weren't for the rattling, loud A/C in the room, this would be an easy five stars. There are spots that need fixing up, but the Peregrine Room is gorgeous and very quiet. Alas, each time the A/C kicked on, that quiet was spoiled. However, that was the only gripe. Our greeting was warm, the Lodge quiet, with great... More

Stayed here for one night. Wish we could have stayed a week. It was quiet, peaceful and spacious. The porch is perfect for sitting outside and eating a meal or snack and enjoying the scenery. We had a great time and will definitely go again.

Fossil rim was the home of a bachelor oil man back in the 70s. The Brady's would feel at home in this house! The common areas have not been updated so it is very period. Usually I hate this but since you are in a home, it actually was kind of fun. The lodge has 5 bedrooms of various sizes.... More

My 10-year-old son and I did our annual mom/son getaway and stayed at the Lodge and then did the private safari tour in the morning. Lodge is very charming, nice room (we stayed in the one at the top with jacuzzi tub) with nice common areas. The best part about it is being so close to the animals (right outside... More

We arrived after a long 4 1/2 hour drive from Houston. This place is deep in the country. We pulled in and there was a staff member who greeted us on the porch she introduced herself but was having a conversation on her cell she thought we were already guest and told us let her know if we need anything... Went with the boyfriend and we stayed in the Addax tent. The "tents" were really nice and come with two twin beds and a bathroom. The mattresses are not the best but I was able to sleep and no bed is ever like your bed at home. The tents are located over looking a watering hole and we spent lots... More
