This hotel is ok. We just stayed one night because we were only here for my daughter's doctor's appointment the next morning with a specialist at the utmb hospital. Our room was clean but as we walked along the corridors we saw several roaches lurking during the night. The vending machines also only carried soda, & the only one that... more

Our La Quinta Inn room was clean and the staff was friendly but the best thing about the motel (IMO) is the location. My husband booked a 12 hour fishing trip, took our vehicle and was gone all day. I was able to go to the Strand and shop via the city bus system for only $1. The bus stop... more

I stay at the newer LQ in Galveston a few times a year, but have prior to this past weekend had never stayed in this location. From the outside it looks like a much older hotel, but inside our room looks brand new. They have great beds, new carpet and modern bathrooms and the rooms are nicely decorated. It's a... more

We wanted to head to Galveston for Father's day weekend but all of our usual digs were booked. We submitted a price on Priceline and got a room at LaQuinta. The room itself was small but very nice - really liked the wood flooring in the entry and bathroom. Only toiletries provided was soap and shampoo. We faced the back... more

The rooms at the La Quinta toward West Beach had great beds. However, the desk clerks could hardly speek English and they didn't know what they were doing. They had only one elevator working which made it very inconvenient to get stuff to an upper floor room toward the back of the hotel. One elevator did not work at all... more

I booked two rooms five weeks before our cruise was to leave Galveston. I went over the dates several times, I asked about the shuttle to the boat on Sunday and was told one could be provided, no problem. I called two days prior to arrival, tried to check the dates and confirmation information, told them we would be arriving... more

My family booked two rooms at La Quinta Inn in Galveston because it overlooked the gulf. We weren't expecting anything fancy, but we have some standards. First off, when we checked in, we opened our room only to find that it already contained luggage. Assuming this was not complimentary with the room, we contacted the front desk. By contacted, I... more

We appreciated the remodel and updates. The pictures on tripadvisor are not accurate. New linens, pillows and fresh paint We visited Independance Day weekend and liked the location, pool, breakfast. Not enough parking. At least 10% of parking was taken up by hotel's own temporary storage buildings. Would probably stay here again, if the price is right. more

My husband and I had booked here through our travel agent. We are from Canada and were on a motorcycle tour through Texas, so had experienced many hotels on our trip. Although the hotel does look a little run down, the room was clean, although beds are small. We at first were a little set back as we arrived at... more

Checked in for a two night weekend stay. They are in the process of renovating the whole hotel. It appeared the lobby had already been done. We were assigned a non smoking room, and were pleasantly surprised to see it was renovated, with new carpet, flooring and fabrics. We were missing the new refrigerators/microwaves that were to be in the... more
