I bid a ridiculously low price on priceline for 2 nights in Galveston, TX and got the Beachcomber. After reading the horrible reviews on the motel, I considered booking a different hotel and just counting my losses. A friend talked some sense into me...go to the motel, check-in and, if it's really that horrible, check out and drive to another... More

The staff was friendly and helpful. The carpet turned the bottom of our socks dark grey. The air conditioner was very loud. The shower/bath control knob was missing and replaced with a large screw. The room had an odor. Other than that, it was OK. If you want the absolute minimum frills and want a cheap place to stay within... More

My wife and I stayed for a night in July and another in August. The rate was very reasonable for Galveston. The rooms were clean and comfortable - certainly well above average compared with many budget motels near the Gulf coast. The facilities were okay, though the pool was tiny. The location is excellent - a block from the sea.... More

They don't stick with the price they tell you. They raised my rate by $10 a night at check-out. I was told to call and speak with a manager who would correct the mistake. Someone had went in the computer and changed my rate after I checked in. When I checked out they advertised the rooms for $20 less a... More

I went to Galveston after a bitter breakup to relax and to prepare myself for my job and God must have known that I needed friendly, helpful and caring people so he led me to the Beachcomber Inn. From the front desk (Dana, Pat and others), to the housekeeping staff and even maintenance (Raoul and Oliver) helped make my stay... More

After reading terrible reviews, I was afraid of what we would find. We stayed at the Beachcomber Inn for a night before our cruise. Our room was on the bottom floor. The appearance was just fine for a budget hotel. There was a clean bathroom with a good shower. The bed was fine. The breakfast area was spottless I felt... More

I booked a room with Destination next.com at the Beachcomber inn on feb 2nd for sat feb 7th 2009. I was sent confirmation emails .upon arrival at the Beachcomber I was told that my reservation did not exist and that they were fully booked for that evening.I was then shocked when told by the young clerk that the manager was... Although we never like to hear that anyone has had a bad experience, we do hope to be given the opportunity to make it right. Galveston island has gone through a devastating event with the hurricane and so have most of it's employees. Many of them lost everything they own and have been trying to recover as well. However, rude... More

We had reservations to stay here before we went on a cruise, we had flew into houston and rented a car. When we got there I had given them my comfirmation with the cost I had held with my credit card, (which they had confirmed by email 2 times) and I was told it was a mistake and that the... More

We were happy that pur stay at this little unlnown went so well. It was a nice, clean place and the manager and staff were very friendly to me and my handicapped son. It's hard to find in that business, but when we got back from the hospital that day the manager even came to check on us and had... More
