Arrived in Galveston, but received a call while having lunch. Went to the hotel to personally cancel the reservations, but also to look at the room. It was a nice room for such an old property. We thought the room rate was a bit high, but the location and view are very nice. Except for some strange odors we did... More

My experience with the commodore started with the check in. The staff was very rushed, not paying attention to anyone and trying to process everything without paying attention. Next the parking is very crappy. The parking spaces are VERY narrow and close. When we arrived to our room the TV was not working at all. We asked for someone to... More

We recently returned from vacation in Galveston. We stayed at the Commodore on the Beach hotel. One word to describe the facility, yuck! Upon arrival, we noticed dead flies in our beds and a large ball of hair in the shower. We never had enough towels and had to call every night to get more. Our trash wasn't emptied one... More

After a disappointing overnight stay at Gaido's I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel just next door. the room is very tiny, but the bed was comfortable. At least there was a blanket on the bed, unlike Gaidos which has a threadbare sheet and old pilled quilt. There is no coffee maker. I wish these older hotels would accommodate this... More

My family of 11 just left here and we all loved our rooms. 8 of us stayed in the family room and it was perfect for our needs. It was spacious, clean, and had a fridge in the room. The kids had a blast being able to stay in the same room. Meanwhile, the other 3 adults were able to... More

Have been coming to Galveston for years and am amazed at how high prices have gotten. $200 for a room here, although it did include cruise parking. The location is perfect, view is great, staff helpful, room clean but certainly not a $200 hotel. I priced all the hotels in Galveston and this was the best deal I could get.... More

There were four of us sharing a room (double beds) and surprisingly enough, it was great. We had a good time. The room was clean. The beds were clean (new beddings) and comfortable. We enjoyed the balcony and ocean view. The sunrise was spectactular! The hotel is centrally located and walking distance to nearly every attraction and eatery on the... More

Looking for an amazing ocean view? Commodore has it! Security? This hotel enforced the tightest security I have experienced. The non-smoking policy is a plus! The hotel provides a place or site for people who smoke. The staff are friendly, and helpful. Our room was clean, and well stock with necessities. My minor complaints are the wifi functions and the... More

For budget friendly with a beach view, this is a good find. Room was clean, with a beachy cottage theme. Yes it's noisy - traffic along seawall doesn't stop. The patio is nice to sit and relax, watch the ocean & the traffic. Pool area was clean & nice. The parking can be difficult especially with people taking up 2... More

THe view from our balcony was wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful. THe milk and cookies daily at 5 were pleasant. The beds were the worst I believe I have ever slept on in a hotel. I felt like I was in a hole. They were soft but broken down. THe room had a bad odor and damp with... More
