We just went on a one night Galveston getaway and this hotel was perfect. We looked at many hotels / inn's in the area and could not find any ocean view rooms for anywhere near what it cost us at the Commodore. Check in was very easy. All staff that we dealt with was very nice and courteous. Parking was... More

Arrived earlier than check in time. Reservation was found easily, nice staff, check in smooth. Parking in back of hotel where you enter to get inside your room. All rooms have a beautiful ocean front view with private balconies. The hotel is old and a lot of people talk about it being outdated , but I like the vintage style.... More

Stayed one night before cruise. Great location. Room was clean but hilariously dated. Most staff was kind except for older gentleman at front desk. Waited 2 hours for a cab but he said "no you haven't" Umm, yea, I have a watch. Long wait due to ships docking is what we were told. I can understand that totally but 2... More

rooms are divided by brick walls hears the sounds of other rooms. rooms are terrible old toilets that should be in outhouses. not worth the price the hourly motels are better than this motel. the only good thing about the commodore is the view of the water other than that stay somewhere else

Everyone I encountered here was rude right from the start, very standoffish. It took them forever to even find our reservation because they wouldn't actually listen to us and just assumed everything they said was right and we were always wrong (I've had customer service experience- definitely not the way it should be handled). Once the idiots finally got our... More

Went there for spring break, and the hotel was awesome. Every room has a view of the Gulf of Mexico. We are from Houston and came down for 1 night to enjoy the beach. This hotel is a bit older but the rooms were decorated nicely with a seaside cottage theme. The walls are brick, bringing safety and also peace... More

This is the perfect hotel. Has cheap rooms and comfy beds! Beach access is across the street and restaurants within walking distance. Walk down to The Brick have a few cocktails walk back to your room. :) I've been to Galveston a 100 times and I prefer The Commodore over any other! Plus my Kids can swim in the pool... More

We will be staying again. This was a nice clean hotel with an awesome view of the beach and a little stretch of the legs to Bubba Gump's on Pleasure Pier. We stayed for 2 nights before boarding the Carnival Triumph and I really couldn't have asked for a better hotel.

Commodore on the Beach is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The hotel does not have quality rooms. The furniture is old and dirty. In room TV programming is minimum. The room I was assigned, contained a bath tub (fish bowl) that was 36" *28". The AC (heater in Dec.) produced a loud hissing noise that maintenance could... More

this is a harsh review but i want families to know what i experienced in three hours. my 17 year old son was approached by a guy on the way to our room asking if he wanted to buy some "weed". we went down to the pool and there was nothing but drunks sitting around yelling and cussing. one of...
