This is a very nice hotel. The front desk is very friendly and is willing to help you in any way. The rooms are renovated from Ike, you can't tell it was hit at all. It's a block from Seawall, so it is in a good location. My 2 boys & I enjoyed it here and we will go back....... more

Me and my niece stayed there just before hurricane ike hit and one of the daytime clerks was rude as ever and ripped me off on the room prices she gave me a number to call and they booked it for 42.00 and she charged us 62.00 plus a depoist. Never heard of that before, we ask for the front... more

Usually I try to stay away from Super 8 hotels, but this one is nice. We usually try to stay here instead of one of the pricey hotels in Galveston, since we only use the room to crash at night for a few hours. It is not far from the Seawall, and most attractions, but is a lot cheaper than... more

After having stood the stiff tone of the front-desk women we liked the hotel. What do you expect so near the sea at such low price? The rooms need a bit of cleaning and re-doing the edges of the walls, but still ok. The handicapped-people-room was VERY good. They have good parking-capacity. more

Stayed here one night ($40 on a Thursday) in a King Room on ground level. Room was very good size, bathroom clean and everything else pretty standard. Only problem was that our bed was a King size, but blanket they placed on the bed was made for a Queen size. Room had that "musty" odor that is common for most... more

Room was very stinky, like a dog had peed in it. Staff offered another room, but it was worse. The place is just old, worn out, and smelly. Sheets on the bed had holes. Bathroom was so creepy, I opted not to take a shower in it. I have to admit, I'm used to at least three-star hotels, but I... more

It was here or the Rosenberg Motel, and that's the most likely place for a drug deal gone bad to happen. So that is how we wound up at the Super 8. Despite the absence of gunfire, we did not have an uneventful night. Evidently the other residents weren't fatigued by the day's activities and so they spent the night... more

Two couples stayed for a night before our Carnival cruise. The rooms were good size and the bathroom area very clean with new granite countertops. The rooms were nonsmoking, however one room did smell like someone had smoked but the other couple decided it wasn't worth changing and didn't tell the front desk. The beds were comfortable and we felt... more

SIMPLY EXCELLENT IN ALL RESPECTS, HAS ALL YOU NEED AND IT WAS CLEAN AND QUIET. GREAT SERVICE TOO. Would stay here again and again. Great for families with small kids. Especially if microwave and fridge and hairdryer are a must! more

The good part, I got a great rate compared to similar area hotels. The other side, parking is limited and difficult. Basically the place looks run down and in need of maintenance. Simple stuff like new paint, cleaning the filthy parking lot and walk areas would be a good start. The room was "OK". We booked a non-smoking room, it... more
