Being a business traveler I am quite picky about my hotels. After reading TripAdvisor reviews I decided to give the Harbor House a try.

First of all, the location is absolutely perfect. Located just off of "The Strand" and right on the entrance to Galveston Bay and off of busy streets, you have no traffic, and you get to enjoy a nice sea breeze every day.

Parking isn't free...you'll pay $10.00 per day for that, but it is worth it.

The hotel itself is beautiful. The rooms are spotless, and the ceilings are vaulted hard-wood for an elegant touch. The bed I had was the most comfortable I have slept in for a long time. There is also FREE wi-fi access, so bring your laptop.

TV was free, and I rather enjoyed NOT having any "On-Demand" video available.

The only disappointment I had was with the dining...no room service. However, Galveston isn't a big island, so you can get to some really good restaurants in... more
