Step back in time to the 1940's with a visit to the Hangar Hotel, next to the runway at Fredericksburg, Texas. The hotel is a replica of a quonsat hut and the furnishings are replicas of the 40's down to the telephones in the rooms. When looking out the window you see palm trees and you think of the men... Perfect hotel for us! First, kids are not allowed so makes for a quiet relaxing stay. Second, the 1940's South Pacific furnishings and ambience are spot on. The staff is one of the friendliest and most helpful I have experienced. The room was spacious and immaculate. There is a diner next to hotel that does breakfast and lunch only, and... More

1940's plane / hangar motif; 1940's music & decor in the lobby; private planes parked right out front of the hotel; balcony with comfy rocking chairs all around the second floor facing the landing strip - great place to watch the sunset and landing planes. Rooms neat and clean with 1940's decor. Only about 50 rooms. Staff is always at... More

We stayed here over July 4th while attending the horse races. We chose it for the location, since we could walk to the race track and our friends were able to get an RV spot nearby. This is an adult-only hotel, which means it tends to draw an older and quieter crowd. The hotel decor is cute & rooms are... More

We stayed there to attend their USO Style Big Band Dance the July 4th weekend (Bill Smallwood's Texas Swing Orchestra was great). We loved it all. Attention to detail, including the 1940's style phones in room and other furnishings. Was fun to just sit on the hotel porch to watch the airplanes come and go. There are some old cars... More

From the flight line outside to the Officer's Club inside and the aviation memorablia, the Hangar Hotel is a quiet place to stay with comfortable rooms and a unique ambiance. A short distance from the center of town. Took us back in time to the Bachelor's Officer Quarters and Officer's guest houses of our yesteryear. (You don't have to be... More

The Hangar Hotel is the most unique place I have ever stayed. Wonderful 1940s theme but with modern luxuries. It is a perfect complement to the Pacific war World War II museum. The officers club lounge coupled with the 1940s music makes this a wonderful relaxing and nostalgic place to stay. Watching planes take off and land on the adjoining... More

If you have an aviation background, or perhaps a military background, or just love airplanes, or maybe just want to try something a little different, THIS IS YOUR PLACE. My wive and I came to Hill Country for a wedding down the road and thought we do some Texas wine tasting while in the neighborhood. I stumbled into The Hanger... More

This was our third trip. WE have made this our Fredericksburg favorite place to stay. The rooms are very good size, 1940's ambiance...We were staying with friends we always meet there to enjoy the Rockbox theater in town. The desk help and Officer's club is very cordial. Enjoy a drink in the Officer's club and play a game of pool... More

A great hotel that we would return to! We stayed one night on a weekday, so it wasn't too busy. The 1940's ambiance of the hotel was so very charming. Sadly, the night we stayed, both the officer's club and the diner were closed. We did get to shoot pool in the officer's club even though the bar was not... More
