Amazing views, quiet surroundings, beautiful scenery and landscape. We stayed in the Bohl Log Cabin and it is beautiful! The beds are so comfortable, we slept great!!! Beautiful trail to walk around the property and see wild life. David and his crew keeps everything in tip top condition! We loved being here!!!

I found this place while researching area options online. I couldn't have been happier with the results. Pulling up to our residence for the weekend, we were greeted by a donkey grazing in our front yard. The Von Heinrich Home (where we stayed) was both cozy and comfortable. It's a good central location for exploring Luckenback, Fredericksburg, and/or the Texas... More

We've stayed at many properties in Fredericksburg; but this is the last one. I can only describe it as a trip to Grandma's house. I'll never book anywhere else again. The animals only add to the ambiance. Take LOTS of carrots and apples. Britey may be a donkey; but she eats like a pig.

Stayed in one of several cabins dating from the late 1800's. Low doorways. Log, limestone, and lime wall construction. Very well maintained and upgraded to modern standard, all while preserving the charm and authenticity of the original. Really gave you the sense of being on a pioneer ranch. The only negative was the breakfast part of the "Bed and Breakfast".... More

While visiting the Texas hill country with our good friends, we stayed three nights in the 1850s Bohl cabin at Settler's Crossing. What a charming and restful setting! We were impressed by the beautiful antiques and yet comfortable modern amenities. Sheep, deer, a donkey, and two friendly greeter dogs, Bob and Layla, added to the fun of staying here. The... More

This is the most peaceful, relaxing, stress free place I have ever been. If you want luxury, go somewhere else. If you want to get away from life, live simple, and rest, come to Settlers Crossing. I'll come back every year. I love this place and can't wait to come stay again. Wife and I did 4 days. I spent... More

Online this place looked charming and quaint, but one never knows. It could not have been any cleaner, cuter and more restful. The hummingbirds buzzed, the sheep came by with their tiny lambs, we heard the braying of the donkey and even the sun popped from behind the clouds right before our arrival. There were many helpful magazines describing the... More

We stayed one night at Settlers Crossing...our only regret was that we didn't stay longer. We were in the Pioneer Cabin and were delighted with the tasteful antique/period furnishings. I have to emphasize how beautifully decorated the cabin was...really special (yet, very comfortable...nice shower, good mattress etc.). My young girls just about collapsed from delight when we first walked in.... More

Our kids (4 and 5) never wanted to come inside during our 5 day stay. They loved roaming the property and feeding carrots to the sheep and donkey. We stayed in the Pioneer cabin which had a great front porch. We bought a quart of ice cream at the local ice cream shop (Clear River Ice Cream) and ate it... More

My brother and I took our parents here for their 50th wedding anniversary. We rented three cabins for the weekend and had a great stay. The owners are so pleasant to work with. Accommodating and laid back. All the cabins are clean and comfortable. It's amazing how they manage to retain their historical roots and at the same time, be... More
