We stayed one night at Settlers Crossing...our only regret was that we didn't stay longer. We were in the Pioneer Cabin and were delighted with the tasteful antique/period furnishings. I have to emphasize how beautifully decorated the cabin was...really special (yet, very comfortable...nice shower, good mattress etc.). My young girls just about collapsed from delight when we first walked in.... More

Our kids (4 and 5) never wanted to come inside during our 5 day stay. They loved roaming the property and feeding carrots to the sheep and donkey. We stayed in the Pioneer cabin which had a great front porch. We bought a quart of ice cream at the local ice cream shop (Clear River Ice Cream) and ate it... More

My brother and I took our parents here for their 50th wedding anniversary. We rented three cabins for the weekend and had a great stay. The owners are so pleasant to work with. Accommodating and laid back. All the cabins are clean and comfortable. It's amazing how they manage to retain their historical roots and at the same time, be... More

My wife and I stayed at the Indiana House the weekend before Christmas and really enjoyed it. We had not had a weekend away from our kids in years and wanted to be somewhere that was secluded and not, as my wife would say, at a bed and breakfast like the one in "Groundhog Day". I picked Settlers Crossing because... More

David and Melissa Estes are superb hosts and have the best place in Fredericksburg. The perfectly clean cabins are warm and comfortable and have everything we need. The peaceful nostalgic country setting is very relaxing and the wooded grounds are neat and well maintained year round. We have been there many times, have always felt right at home and will... Eloquent isn't a word that usually comes to mind when staying in a stone barn - but this one is eloquent. It's a beautiful restoration and very comfortable. I want to go back to try out all the other cottages on the property. We never saw the hosts, but that was all explained to us and gave us a sense... More

We arrived to the Bohl cabin on Oktoberfest weekend and everything about the weekend was perfect. the Cabin was so quaint! And the setting makes you not want to leave. The owners think of everything. Nice bedding, coffee, oatmeal and enough dishes to use if needed. Toiletries, plenty of towels, reading material about the area, etc. It has a full... More

I was searching the internet looking for a nice place to stay in Fredericksburg, Texas. We had a wedding to attend in the area, and my wife and I had just celebrated our 30th anniversary. I discovered Settlers Crossing via the Chamber of Commerce website link. I liked what I saw, so I called and spoke with David Estes, the... More

This is my second time staying out at Settler's Crossing....the house is a 19th century home with partial reproduction features that give you the feel of stepping back in time with some of the amenities that we've all grown accustomed to. This is a 35 acre area that is secluded and only has about 7 homes to select from with... More

Settlers Crossing is a very unique B&B in that you rent a home (for the price of a room!). They are all period homes that are gorgeous, but in my opinion the best part was when we pulled up to our home, and around the front yard was a horse, a donkey and probably 10 sheep! Loved it! The only... More
