Traveled with my wife and silky terrier on a quick one-nighter. This is a historic building in a city once known as an "All-America City" recipient. As natives who have moved away, this is a favorite of ours. The "outside-facing" rooms are very comfortable and recent re-modeling project has replaced all AC's. Best of all, guests receive a free welcome... More

For it being in business for 50 some years, I have to say I was very pleased with my stay. The rooms are newly renovated, and the location is nice. I stayed in a junior suite, so it wasn't in the actual hotel but on the ground level next to the pool. Breakfast in the morning is delicious. They give... More

This is a very old hotel. Carpet was extremely stained. Restroom needed repairing. We asked for a non-smoking room but stench of cigarette very strong. We were given 2complimentary coupons for free drinks but couldn't use on account there was a party scheduled for outside guests only. We were given a room behind the hotel where it was pretty dark.... More

We are very sorry that you had an unpleasent stay. We have many rooms and suites and we try to maintain them at all times but it appears by your comments that your room was not up to our standards. We are listed as one of the top 50 Historcial Hotel's in Texas and have made many improvements over the... More

Everything's bigger in Texas and this motel was built in the height of mid century modern design where buildings were spread out low slung and spacious. This place is unpretentious and great for families. Rooms are large with exposed brick, beds comfortable, a/c quiet. There is a big courtyard with pool (mostly shallow for kids). Price is so reasonable, plus... More

Eighteen miles north of the Mexican border, is the city of Edinburg, and the location of the “Echo Hotel.” Located across from the public library, the hotel is set back a good distance from the road avoiding any traffic noise. There’s a variety of room styles and prices to choose from which of course I chose the cheapest. From the... More

I felt like I stepped back in time. This charismatic hotel was built in the late 1950’s and has maintained its charm. Upon check in by Joe we immediately felt welcome. He offered us advice on things to see and do and recommended great birding spots. Many employees have worked here for years and their pride and loyalty to the... More

The staff, the daily buffets, and the coupons given at check-in make this property an extended stay type of property. To fully enjoy the ammenties you must stay a few days to enjoy the food and the bar entertainment. It is across from the police station and one the main street to the courthouse but otherwise than that it is... More

We stayed 2 nights and were most pleasantly surprised. The staff is most courteous and helpful. The food was fantastic and the restaurant staff was most pleasant and professional. Real dishes and silver. High quality eggs and bacon. Details in the restaurant were memorable. Served from the correct side of the table, always spot on. The pool and other outdoor... More

I attended aa medium sized conference (200) held at this hotel. The room rate was less than $50 per night and the breakfast buffet was only $2.99 and was good. I could not connect to the free internet for very long but it was not that big of a deal. The conference facilities were excellent. The chicken fried steak in... More
