Great place with a nice view from the Hill but we were disappointed by a few points: first, the hosts who were not so welcoming as written in other reviews (the less welcoming in our 4000 miles road trip !). From first minutes, you understand everything is ruled and that you pay for what is described in the mail, nothing... More

This was a wonderful location for our "after Christmas" family gathering. It was the perfect location for gathering as a large group as well as providing private and quiet spaces. The walking trails are safe with varied views. Fredericksburg's amazing museum and shopping opportunities were a short hop away but the ranch itself has all you need for a pleasurable... More

We had a graduation party/family get together for 35 ish. The Whatleys were wonderful, went above and beyond in every way. Great views, wonderful wildlife, very quiet, and the stars are absolutely incredible. This is a must stay, especially for larger groups with multiple families.

We came here to get a bit of quiet time with the family and for our two young girls to get in some horse time and we succeeded on both counts. Jim was very considerate, friendly and courteous with the girls (aged two and four) and we enjoyed the short trek through the ranch listening to his stories and discussing... More

The Whatleys obviously appreciate and enjoy their ranch, and they want to make sure you do too during your stay. My family of 4 had a great time, from relaxing in the lodge to stargazing by a campfire – and of course the dozens of trips the kids had to make to go check on the baby chicks and look... More

Perfect & peaceful. Jim, the Host, was so welcoming and helpful. We truly felt like we were in our own little piece of heaven. Bird watching, enjoying the horses, chickens, and 'Snoopy' the farm cat was just the beginning of our day. Horseshoes, board games, a common pool and fireplace as well. Hiking and views were breath taking! My husband... More

We stayed over Spring Break for 3 nights. Our kids, ages 8, 9, 12 and 13, all had a fabulous time. They loved the horse rides so much (thanks to Jim and his stories) that they paid themselves to ride again the next day. It's a great place to unplug (it's Edge out here, barely worth using!) and enjoy the... More

We stayed at Quiet Hill Ranch over New Years and had a great time. Our two boys (5 & 8) were in heaven. They loved the animals and "Cowboy" atmosphere. They couldn't wait to check the chicken coup in the morning to see if there were any eggs and just explore. Cooking hot dogs and burgers with an open fire... More

Quiet Hill is FANTASTIC!! My husband and I went with a group of friends - one couple per cabin - and had the whole place to ourselves for the weekend. This is definitely the way to go - the lodge is beautiful and it's really fun to hang out there and in the huge kitchen with a group. Not to... More

We loved the downhome hospitality and atmosphere. The kids loved collecting eggs from the chicken coop, petting the horses, and making smores around the campfire. My wife and I really enjoyed getting away from the city (especially seeing the stars). However it was only a half hour drive into downtown Fredericksburg and/or Enchanted Rock. Definitely would stay with Jim and... More
