Stayed at the Belmont this past weekend or one night and really enjoyed the place. Modern renovated motel court in a convenient location. Did not get to eat next door, but did eat down the street at Norma's Cafe, great breakfast. The Belmont was quiet, and well designed. First and foremost, we almost didn't book the Belmont based on some of the reviews about the neighborhood it is in... Give me a break! I've seen scary neighborhoods and this is NOT one. My wife stays at the Belmont often when she is in Dallas. She has a much more free spirit then me, so I wanted to check it out. I found the hotel to be a lot of fun. The pool and bar are fantastic. I made reservations for a "deluxe room" at a rate of $120 per night. I found our room to be small and claustrophic. The one chair and two tables in the room were plastic patio type furniture, not the least comfortable for sitting and talking or watching television.
