I had read about the Adolphus hotel and wanted to show my wife, one evening we went in to have a drink at the bar and to look at the history of the place, it was very grand and we walked all over the building even going in to the large ballroom on the first floor, it was very beautiful.... More

What a grand hotel. Centered downtown within walking distance of most activities is this jewel of a hotel. It is about a 30 minute drive from the airport. Nice rooms, comfortable, beds, attentive staff. There is a real nice restaurant- the French Room if you are really hungry. There is a cowboy bar and grille for regular food and a... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your compliments. We appreciate your mentioning The French Room, too. It is equally splendid and charming. Guests love the convenience and luxury of our sedan service, which covers a three-mile radius of the hotel. Our management and staff look forward to your next visit. Cordially, David More

i loved loved loved this hotel. my room was GORGEOUS. no cookie cutter crappy furniture, i felt like i was a guest in an historic mansion. and the sheets... oh the sheets. i have never stolen anything from a hotel, but after pulling mine out searching for the tag, only to find they were exclusive to the adolphus, i thought... Dear Guest, It's a joy to read that you love The Adolphus. Your description of the hotel as an historic mansion is apt. We are delighted that you - as an expert on bed linens - approve of our luxury bedding. It was personally chosen by our managing director, who has equally high standards. Thank you for your high praise!... More

After you have checked in and put your bags down, go to the bar. How do I say this and it still be taken as a complement - the bar reminds me of the elegant bar in "The Shining". Imagine lots of wood and plants, high, high ceilings, tapestries on the walls. If you are not impressed by this then... More

The Adolphus Hotel is in the heart of downtown Dallas and is quite old and old fashioned. It was fun walking in the doors and feeling like time had gone back a hundred years. Of course, because it's an older hotel, there was a musty and dampness to the air inside, so it kicked up my allergy response. However, it... More

When you have been traveling around the world for many years you start to appreciate hotels with atmosphere and style rather than fancy "plastic hotels". * Staff is friendly and professional. * Rooms are nice * Lobby and reception is exactly as they should be: brass, carpets and old style furniture. The Adolphus Hotel in Dallas was built in the early 1900's by Adolphus Bush of Bud Beer fame. And the historic feel of the hotel has been maintained all of these years. Upgraded over the years of course, and starting a new renovation now. I have stayed in this hotel in the 1980's, 1990's, 2000's and now in the 2010's.... More

We arrived bedraggled by our long, long drive and right from the efficient and friendly doorman through check-out experienced a fantastic stay. It takes a pro to welcome carloads of arriving wedding guests (which we we were not) AND welcome other hotel guests and the doorman was a real pro. We were in the door in no time. Check in... More

We recently stayed at the Adolphus for one night (Friday) to avoid a 2 hour drive after flying into DFW. I found the hotel through online travel sites and reserved a room under the "Stay and Savor" package for $166. The package was a good deal because it included free valet parking and a $30 dining credit. We checked in... More

Needed a hotel after an unexpected layover. Book the reservation online, prepaid with credit card. Arrived late in evening. Front desk won't let us have our room without an additional deposit?! They have my credit card information! Ask to speak to a Manager. No manager on duty. Unable to get anywhere with the night staff. Ended up leaving and demanding... More

Dear Michael, It is surprising to read that, as a world traveler, you are unfamiliar with third party bookings. The hotel does not have access to your credit card information through the third party. In order to establish credit with the hotel, one must present a credit card upon check-in. These third parties only collect for room and tax; they... More
