I did not pay attention to the other warnings on this site before I booked. I wish I would have! The hotel is old and dirty. I was moved from the 7th floor to the 4th floor to a so called suite. The couch in there was so old and filthy. The drapes have not been washed in years. There... More

Aw, come on, guys. Lawrence ain't bad. I researched hotels near Dealy Plaza...sure, Hyatt Regency is nicer, but it's also 3x the price of Lawrence. I stayed on the (apparently non-haunted) fifth floor. I had a view of the infamous Book Depository window from my room. My room was small and clean. The halls and elevators are a bit creaky,... More

I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel when I visited Dallas to go to an event at the American Airlines Center. The negative reviews posted here (which did scare me a little) turned out to be not helpful at all, because they rely on standards that just don't apply to a budget hotel in a city like Dallas. It... Thank you for your review. Even though we are planning a major renovation, we will continue to monitor our value in the downtown market and always strive to be appropriately priced compared to our competition. Our changes will also create a lobby and environment worthy of the downtown area. It will become a place to relax, unwind and truly enjoy... More

This hotel is definitely not a five star hotel, but I had no real problems with it. When my shuttle bus pulled up outside my first thought was "oh no" I felt that it looked quite shady. The people at the reception were average, I got checked in quickly and efficiently but I didn't exactly feel welcome. They seemed kind... More

I booked this hotel on Hotwire for 100 bucks I thought it couldn't be too bad. WRONG! Ok there is no parking which is additional 20 bucks next to a dumpster that smelled of rotting meat. Btw the lot apparently has a reputation for having cars broken into. Ok , walking to the hotel a homeless man asks for loose... More

First, thank you for your review. Second, it's unfortunate that our hotel did not meet your standards or expectations. Many of the issues you cited will be addressed in an upcoming major renovation, and our parking situation will be addressed as well. We hope that you will return to stay with us, perhaps after we have finished. More

I'm quite surprised by the number of negative reviews this place has received. I stayed here for three nights and my experience was distinctly positive. My judgment might be coloured by the fact that I am used to staying in hostels or budget hotels, but I would surmise that Hotel Lawrence is good value for money whatever the reason for... More

This is not a business traveler's hotel. If you in Dallas on business and can affort to stay someplace else, do it and spend the money. I do regret saving a few bucks and not staying at the Hyatt or Omni. However, I would give this place a solid 2.5 stars out of 5 for vacationers. The OK: - The... More

I stayed at the Lawrence because I was making a flying visit on my way to DC and New York. I only wanted to see where JFK was assassinated and the old red museum and so the Lawrence was perfectly positioned for my purpose. I opened the window and took the photo that accompanies this review. WOW! The Lawrence is... More

Stayed the weekend of Dallas Comic-Con so the elevators were always packed and only one was working. The hotel was clean but the vestibule/ entrance reeked of moisture and was always musty smelling. Oddly, this did not spread into the lobby, it stayed in the entry only so I guess that was good. The room was on the small side... More
