Recently spent 7 nights at this hotel. Rooms are of a decent size and clean but a little worn/shabby in places but the rates were good and breakfast was included, quite rare in the US. Beds were comfortable but the skirting boards were flaky in places so perhaps a little water damage in the past or woodworm?? I did enjoy my... More

The location is very nice and the bathrooms are the nicest thing in the room. Elevators are very slow, but overall work. One thing I really cannot dismiss is our room's a/c. Our room temperature is almost 90 but I have it all the down for the past two days we were here. Called the front desk and they said... More

I stayed here for the Final Four, a very busy time. First I have to commend Amanda at the front desk, she was amazingly helpful. They only had one room, a single, which I had to take because there was NOTHING else downtown. Amanda assured me she would keep me in mind in case of cancellations and she was good... More

We had a great time here, no ghostly visits (darn it), the staff was friendly and considerate, yes it is an older hotel and it hasn't been kept up, but it's clean. See if you can get a corner room, we did hear the neighbors next door but it wasn't too bad. This hotel was two blocks from our venue... More

If you want fancy and don't have any appreciation for times past then this hotel is not for you. This hotel dates back to 1925 and was exactly what I was expecting. It really has the old vibes. Absolutely loved the old elevator. The staff was exceptionally friendly. The breakfast was great, many different choices. The bathrooms have recently been... More

I was nervous on entering this hotel as I had read bad reviews and heard haunted stories! We entered to a horrible musty smell in the reception area. The lift had a horrible smell, like something had died there! And was old and rickety. Stayed on the 4th floor, the carpet in hallways really needs replacing! The room was very... More

I love old buildings, and I love staying in historic hotels--but this place made me really sad. Built in the 1920s, this old hotel has great "bones"--original elevator (which should be restored), lovely wood trim, original doors on the rooms with transom windows--but it's not been kept up and any renovations look to have been done on the cheap without... I want to be _quite_ fair on this. This hotel is not the Hyatt, nor the Omni, nor the Ritz-Carlton. It's not priced like them either. Done. We traveled to Dallas for Spring Break on Amtrak from Round Rock and had a wonderful time there. Hotel is almost right across the street from Union Station, so a very short walk... More

We happened upon this gem when our train into Dallas was late and we could not get our rental car. We had to spend the night and it was great. First, they serve cookies and milk in the early evening for "happy hour" so when you walk in the smell of fresh baked cookies is in the air. The rooms... More

If you have ever seen the Bette Davis movie where she has the famous line.."WHAT A DUMP", use it for this hotel. I booked a deluxe queen...what a laugh. Dirty, internet down the entire stay, TV was about 30 years old, totally seedy.
