This is an old hotel that has been remodeled into a trendy looking Kimpton. Very pleasing decor, and nice staff but impractical for sleeping. Currently under renovation and finding the door to even get into the hotel is a challenge. No parking but valet. No restaurant currently but many in the area. They offered a very basic and free continental... More

This is a nice, quiet hotel that has great potential. It is well located, the staff is very friendly and the hotel is very classy. And the pet friendly policy is terrific! However, my most important goal in choosing a hotel is getting a good night's sleep. The bed was poor - it is a mattress sitting on top of... More

When I first arrived I was a little disappointed that the hotels restaurant was closed due to reconstruction. You would never have known it. The staff had a food menu ready and was able to provide addition listings for delivery in the area. I cannot recommend this property highly enough. From the moment I arrived til the moment I left,... Stayed there this weekend. Our second time at the Lumen. They are renovating and it's really quite nice! Loved the front staff--super nice, personable and friendly. Easy to valet and they were also as nice and quick. Neighborhood is fantastic location. SMU across the street and the nice Highland Park/University Park area is wonderful. We brought our dog and it... More

I was in Dallas for work, and was booked at the Palomar (sister Hotel to the Lumen). The Palomar was booked for my second night, so they transferred me to The Lumen. Rachel, at the front desk was beyond helpful and accommodating. She was in contact with the Palomar and had all my information set up when I arrived. The... More

I recently stayed at the partially completed hotel lumen. I have stayed at this hotel many times over the last four years and prefer its location to all others when visiting the SMU campus. We had a big problem just three days before our stay when we received a call from Mario the manager telling us that they were overbooked... More

Hello, It was so nice to see that you again returned back to The Lumen after your update. I am sorry for any confusion you had on your May stay. I wanted to let you know that the decision to ask you to go to another property was not Mario's decision. We were in a sold out situation and were... More

We were not very familiar with Dallas but we felt right at home with the help of the the people at the Hotel Lumen. The staff was super friendly, especially Nikki. The restaurant was just ok. In general the hotel was in great shape, very well maintained. When we were ready to leave Nikki arranged a car to the airport,... More

The hotel is (of course) nice. It is across the street from SMU and in the park cities. The staff was nice and the room was very clean. The shower was large and very relaxing. I live staying at the lumen when I visit my daughter in Dallas. It is a great location if you are visiting SMU or highland park village. They are finishing a major remodel that will double the size of the hotel and add a pool.
