I really liked this hotel for a business trip. It was easy to get to, the bed was super comfortable, the bathroom was spacious, the staff was always friendly (including room service) and the valet had my car ready to go "in an instant" every time. The ambiance of the Lumen is relaxing and not "go, go, go" like in... more

This hotel is right next to SMU - great if you want to be right next to SMU. It's 3 blocks from the interstate so easy access. The entrance is strange and hard to find. The place looks like an old apartment or other type residence building. The staff are great. The bartender is superb. The rooms are uncomfortable. Too... more

Having lived in Germany for three years and extensively traveling to various countries in Europe, the Hotel Lumen would be a typical 3 star hotel. The rooms have the decor, and simplistic layout traditional of a European Hotel. The shower / water pressure is "ala" Germany where there is ample water pressure and flow. The Seinfield Episode where Kramer has... more

Hotel was nice, with great location near SMU. Rooms were a tad weird with the entrance taking you directly into the bathroom and the shower being in the bedroom! Also leopard bathrobes and lingerie in the closet for "sale" was odd. While at hotel my very expensive watch went missing. Not 100% sure if it was left in the bathroom... more

I've stayed at the Lumen about 4 times now, and I'm always pleased with the condition of the rooms, the friendly staff and the location. It's just across the street from SMU, but it's quiet at night. It's small enough so that the desk person and the doorman remember who you are, which is a very personal, nice touch. The... more

I love the Lumen, and if you like a "modern" boutique hotel done right, then you probably will as well. The beds are outstanding, the rooms and particularly the bathrooms are much larger than most hotels (especially compared to Kimpton's sister hotel down the street). It is definitely worth joining Kimpton's reward program because it will give you a great... more
