My husband and I experienced a Birds, Bears and Belugas holiday at Seal River Lodge last August and had a fabulous time. The comfortable lodge, in a beautiful, remote setting, is a family run business and we could not have been made more welcome. The food is delicious. The wildlife was spectacular and exceeded our expectations. The guides are extremely professional... More

We were priviledged to visit Seal River lodge to photograph polar bears. The experience far exceeded our expectations on every level. The lodge is situated in a remote location on the edge of Hudson Bay. Absolutely spectacular. The logistics of running a lodge like this would make most people give up before they started but Jeannie and Mike are amazing.... More

Staying at Seal River Lodge for the Photo Safari was amazing. Being able to get so close to polar bears in the wild and take so many photographs and video is a mind-blowing experience. We saw a number of bears right next to the compound with the bears sticking their noses through the wire fence. It is only then that... More

This has to be the ultimate polar bear experience that is accessible for photographers. It takes place at the Seal River lodge which is very comfortable and roomy. The food is good and the guest rooms are bigger than might be expected in such a remote location. But the main reason that you go there is for the polar bears... More

I spent a week at the Seal River Heritage Lodge observing (and photographing) polar bears from near (to the fence of the Lodge) to far (in the water, on land). It was amazing watching these majestic animals roam in their "walking hibernation", each step slowly taken to conserve energy for the later hunt of ring seals. The lodge is generally... More

Our recent experience at the summer wilderness lodge of Churchill Wild was a once in a lifetime adventure for two Aussies from Perth. Walking within 50 metres of wild polar bears who are lumbering around the rocks and tundra of Hudson Bay waiting out the summer until the ice returns. So close to a polar bear who was very curious... What a fantastic trip. It was our second time with Churchill Wild and it was even better than the first. The nay Sayers said we wouldn't see many bears in Summer, but they were very wrong! We saw over 20 different bears, walking, sleeping, swimming, playing. We saw young bears, old bears, mumma bears with cubs. We swam with the... More

Just experienced a marvelous trip to this property. The lodge is amazingly comfortable and environmentally efficient for such a remote area. Mike and Jeanne planned this extremely well and continue to be two of the most delightful managers one will ever meet. They are joined by their family in the operations and go out of their way to provide a... More
