VERY family friendly - from the bunk beds and full kitchen to cook and grill- and of course, feeding the deer was the highlight. It's nice they have a large, clean pool out back with a volleyball court, but not resort style (which is okay). The cabins our front are awesome, with ample room to sit and reflex looking at... More

We purchased a two-night special on Amazon Local. It turned out to be an amazing purchase! Our stay was in one of the lodge suites: a fully-furnished mini-apartment. The only negative about the accommodations was the unsightly Murphy bed. Everything we needed was at our fingertips. A few days away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, to experience... Went there on an Amazon Local Deal for 2 nights with wine tasting for 2 at Dry Comal Creek Vineyards & Winery, which was a super deal! We stayed in a Lodge Suite, which offered full kitchen amenities but not so much bathroom amenities, although forewarned by management. During our stay we also spent time listening to live music at... More

Stayed there for two nights and the length of stay was just right as there is not too much to do in the immediate area. The king bed was way too soft for me so I woke up with a backache. The ladies that cleaned the rooms and helped me with booking were very nice though. Our neighbors stayed up... More

This was a perfect retreat for us. We were there mid-June and couldn't have asked for nicer weather. We had 7 people in a cathedral cabin....just lovely! Everything was immaculate and the staff was more than accommodating. Our granddaughters (14, 10, 8) loved swimming in the pool and enjoyed spending time with Sarah...lovely daughter of someone working there. The decks... More

We spent 2 nights here the end of June and really wish we had booked more time! We had three couples in adjoining rooms and spent most of our time on the deck overlooking the lake and the plethora of critters that were very friendly and obviously well taken care of by the guest and the staff. All the staff... More

Why call it a "resort" and create false expectations? This is a nice self-service motel with great views of the lake (depending on your room), four cabins downhill and a pool across the road. Emphasis here on "self service" because this motel has no front desk, or guest lounge. There is no one there to help the guests in any... More

We had a family reunion at this resort over Memorial Day weekend this year. Members of our family ranged from 3 years to 80 years old, and a good time was had by all! Each family unit had their own suite, and everyone was very pleased about having their own kitchen, living area and bedrooms. The kids loved the bunk... More

Pros: Beautiful grounds. Deer roaming freely all over the resort (hand feeding them was fun!). Quiet, relaxing environment. Two swimming options (private lake cove and big swimming pool). Lovely, spacious Comal cabins. Cons: If staying in a Comal cabin, I would recommend not staying in Cabin B, there is no view of the lake on the bottom deck and only... More

Clean and peaceful place! Canyon Lake is small and quaint with a couple of decent little places to eat but you'll want to bring your food to cook I your own kitchen at the Resort and eat on the balcony overlooking the Lake. They also give you a small bag of deer-food to feed the deer that pass thru the... More
