Pretty bare bones, but I expected as much. Our room had a small television with a humble decor. Just a place to sleep and shower. Why the horrible rating then? 1) flies constantly buzzing around. 2) open condom wrapper on the floor.

We love staying in old road inns when we travel; but it can be a crap shoot. The Buffalo Inn in Canyon, TX was one of the nicest we have stayed in for some time. The room had been tastefully updated with fresh paint and newer carpeting. There was absolutely no old cigarette smoke or chemical cleaner smell. The bathroom... More

I stayed two nights. The location was perfect for my reason to be in Canyon. It was clean, the bed was very firm. Service was ok. The owners ask that a/c and all lights be turned off when I was not in the room. There is nothing wrong with that request. Very light, continental breakfast. Room rate was right in... More

Old style hotel. The beds were a bit firm, but the rooms were clean and quiet, enough space, and the area felt safe (across from the Campus police Dept.). Brick walls between rooms meant we heard nothing from our neighbors. We walked the area at night to the restaurant (Feldmans - decor is a hoot), no problem. There were several... More

We stayed here two nights. This is a place to put your head down and nothing else. We checked in at 9:00 PM and left the next morning at 8:30 AM and did not return until after midnight. No coffee pot, dingy linens, carpet smelled bad, bed was old and pillows were flat. I do not know how the Buffalo... More

We stayed here just the one night mainly as we were close to the canyon. Hotel ok, room nice and clean. bed comfy. The only thing missing was no coffee making machine in room, other than that I would recommend. Close enough to walk around the town which was nice and not far to drive for the canyon.

You may read other reviews about bedbugs and other "horrors" about the Buffalo Inn. Based on our experience, nothing could be farther from the truth. Don't stay here expecting anything other than a clean place to lay your head down. This place was probably built in the 30's or 40's, but has been completely updated. Our room was comfortable, had... We stayed at the Buffalo Inn over the weekend and I was satisfied with the stay. The property is older. It reminded me of a "mom and pop" motel like you find in areas like Manitou Springs. Even though it was old, it was clean. The parking lot was clean. No trash laying around. The room was clean and it... More

Any experienced road warrior knows that an old, 50's era hotel can be a crapshoot. It could be pleasant and quaint, or your room could look like a medieval torture arena and a successful evening means waking up alive in the morning. Well, the Buffalo Inn falls under the former. It's small, cute, and very well kept. Although not on... More
