Very convenient to the Palo Duro Canyon for the Texas play. Jill and Van are great hosts. Suggest you buy Jill's cookbook with the recipes for those breakfasts she serves. Accommodations are first rate and very reasonably priced.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Hudspeth House. They treat you like family and the breakfast they serve is absolutely delicious! Van makes a great cup of coffee too! The rooms are clean, quiet, roomy, and well furnished. Highly recommend!!

A very charming bed and breakfast in Canyon, Texas. Jill, the owner, had homemade cookies and tea waiting for us upon arrival...a very nice touch! The decor aligns perfectly with the historic significance of the home. Palo Duro Canyon State Park is only 25 minutes or so away. Jill recommended a great diner for dinner and was just very warm... Oh, well thank you so much! Happy that you and your husband enjoyed your vacation to Colorado. We appreciate you staying with us on your way home. I know you were anxious to get on the road early the next morning to get back to your son, but hopefully next time you will have time for breakfast. More

We enjoyed the visit including the " high rise bed !" Very comfortable with pleasant guests. Bathroom a little small but overall excellent. The breakfast showed imagination and of good quality, thank you.

Yes, the bed in The Sophie room is a tall four-poster bed. The step stool comes in handy for some folks. Thanks for the kind words regarding breakfast! More

The hosts, Van & Jill, were extremely cordial and open to serving our guest breakfast (for a fee), if they had a day's advance notice. Best part of staying there was meeting such interesting people every morning. Our table included an oceanographer, bicycle racers, a honeymoon couple on a month long camping honeymoon, a Swiss lady who signed up to... More

So fun to hear how much you enjoyed the fellowship at breakfast. This is why we like serving breakfast at a set time...so guests can converse with one another. Everyone has a story, right? More

We enjoyed our stay and the food was delicious. Canyon has a lot of trains and some guests complained about them. We slept through most of them and they weren't a problem. It's a pretty quiet street. It's about 12 miles to Palo Dura Canyon, a must see. We also went to the High Plains museum which was big and... More

So glad you took the time to explore The Panhandle Plains. It is the largest history museum in the state! We hope to have the railroad's "no horn zone" implemented soon. The city is currently in the first phase of the operation...yay! More

This was our first trip to Texas, did not want to stay in large city so selected Hudspeth, we had a warm welcome, the rooms was good and clean the bed was maybe one of the best I have stayed in, breakfast was great. The town was peaceful, great location to go off to other parts of Texas. Jill and... More

Not only is the house delightfully and comfortably appointed, the owners are people you want to know better. When we locked ourselves out of our room, Van rescued us immediately with the spare key and no judgement on our duh moment. The food was good enough to have us request a cookbook. I would return in a heartbeat.

Hudspeth House was the perfect home away from home for our 3 day Easter week-end. Jill and Van are excellent hosts and the fabulous breakfasts fueled our 'expeditions' to Palo Duro Canyon and Caprock Canyon State Parks. This is in the Top 10 of the many B&B's we've experienced. Hudspeth is definitely on the 'return again someday' list.
