Although the weather did not cooperate, our stay at Painted Sky Inn was still very enjoyable. This is our 3rd visit (RV camping) and we are never disappointed. Denise is always very friendly and accommodating. The views from the piers are breathtaking, especially when storms are rolling in over the hills. The layout makes it very easy for campers and... We love the Painted Sky Inn. We stayed four nights. Very quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. The "beaches" are loaded with bluebonnets...blanketed. The night sky is full of stars. We watched the 'blood moon' lunar eclipse. It is a wonderful place to stay. Denise is the owner and manager: call her on the phone instead of booking online. A snowy egret... More

We absolutely LOVE the Painted Sky Inn. The owner Denise is the nicest person you'll ever meet. Her Inn has an amazing view of the lake and it truly lives up to its name. The sky is beautiful! The rooms are well kept & comfortable. And there are deer roaming everywhere. They're right at home and unafraid of the travelers... More

Booked last minute for a short family getaway for New Years, 2013-2014. Very family friendly, we have two small children and it was perfect for them. They have a playground on site, a large yard to play in and canoe rentals with life-jackets small enough for a 3-year old. They have a great fire pit where they built the fire... More

The inn is situated on a lake that is, sadly, 33 feet low due to the extended drought. They still have enough water for canoeing and fishing. The rooms are freshly remodeled and clean. The beds are comfortable, which is important when you have had a busy day traveling or exploring. The rooms come with kitchenettes and the basics for... More

The Painted Sky Inn is a little piece of paradise. The drive out was beautiful and the inn was just perfect for a short getaway. Kayaking was great, easy access to the water and fishing was great too. Denise, the owner and manager, was super helpful and I can't wait to return. Didn't take the kids this time, but I... More

Thank you for choosing us for what I imagine was a much needed time away! We are so close to Austin that you aren't spending all day to get away! It was great that you took the kayaks out and explored the area. I think you all caught a bunch of catfish off the island if I remember correctly. I... More

My husband and I decided to take a last minute getaway from Austin with our 15 month old son. We decided to book the 2 room cabin so we'd have a separate room and wouldn't have to be quiet once we put our son to sleep. The lake was extremely low but my husband was still able to fish off... More

Thank you so much for coming here and making us your last minute vacation stop. It was so great seeing your husband float out and fish in his tube. Your right, we aren't very close to town and it takes 20 minutes to get to gas and grocery but the good news for staying here is that you can cook... More

From the decks of the Inn we enjoyed the beautiful sunsets that inspired the name of the Inn. Denise was an exceptional host, was on sight the entire time, knew the area well and places to recommend and made us feel right at home. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. The only thing that could have... More

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay and that you felt at home here. It's such a little intimate place that you need to feel at home. The sunsets are what I consider to be a primary feature too and I'm so blessed to have a sister who was talented enough to get the name right. Being a getaway place... More

Denise, was exceptional. The Painted Sky Inn was great. This place is a piece of Heaven here in central Texas. The rooms are clean, the grounds are very well kept. The water level on Lake Buchanan was extremly low due to drought conditions here in Texas. Yet we had a great time. The serenity of the place is to die... More

Thank you so much for appreciating the beauty out here and thank you for the generous compliment to me. As you say, in spite of the water levels, the place is beautiful and peaceful. Thank you for pointing that out and enjoying the place. I hope to have you come back to celebrate more birthdays or just come out and... More

great rooms, no muss no fuss, all stained concrete floors, great litle kitchen with cooktop, microwave, utensils, and even a wine bottle opener. Nice linens, comfy beds, beautiful view. We stayed there to go out fishing on lake buchannan and was able to rent a canoe from them, they also have kayaks. Super tranquil relaxing weekend getaway - absolutely recommend!

"No muss no fuss" is perfect! We are pretty simple here. We think the decor should be the nature outside and cut out the decorator noise on the inside. I do plan to put in some professional photos in the room that are taken on property and in the area just to add a little bit of decor but something... More
