We booked a weekend trip here kid free as we are typically outdoor people, and enjoy the hill country immensely. The web site looked amazing, and I appreciated that there was no television to aid in getting us outside. Upon check-in, we were given a map of the trails and resort. The front desk lady told us the more difficult... More

Just got back from a 2 day stay. We had a great time! This is not a fancy resort, but it is very nice. It's rustic and cabin feeling, but was well planned out and everything felt clean and well kept. We had the Deluxe room with 2 beds and a great view! Loved our huge deck and it wasn't... More

I thought I should write a feedback of this place since I read others at this website before we went. We just had a weekend gateway on June 21 and 22. It was relaxing. The restaurant service was excellent and food were really good. We loved our mini tip there and will go back again.

We camped here Easter weekend. We did not use any of the facilities, so I can't comment on those. We camped with 2 other families, so we had 3 sites side-by-side and the kids ran from one to the other, so we really didn't need to go anywhere, they kept themselves entertained. It was dry and it was cool, so... More

This review is for the RV camp sites only. I was going to title this "Nickel and Dimed to Death" however, I went back to the website and had I paid attention, I would have noticed they did in fact list all the additional fess. I should have added up the daily use fee ( $5 per person), the reservation... More

Quiet, nature setting overlooking the lake. This lovely resort is tucked away at the north end of Lake Buchanan in the Texas hill country. What a surprise! Purely rustic rooms, with board porches and rocking chairs, and a touch of elegance in the dining hall, small pool and jacuzzi pool. They also have some RV camping spots.A planetarium is nearby... My husband, our dog, and I visited for a few nights this past weekend in May 2014. The prices were reasonable, the folks very helpful and friendly, and the chef they have there is fantastic! This chef can make a fried catfish po-boy memorable. From breakfast to dinner everything was top notch. We hiked every morning and drove to sight... More

The Good: It is a nice ranch that is run by the LCRA. The overall general appearance of the property was nice. You can get away and see nice stars at night. It accepts pets at a minimal charge. The Bad: This is more or less a cheap motel surrounded by a nice big ranch. The best rooms were small... More

My family of four, plus dog stayed for 3 nights during spring break. Our kids are 5 and 10. The accommodations were nice, not fancy. I liked the rustic vibe of the place with the cabins circling the courtyard and pool. We had a hillside view in H cabin. The views were nice as it is situated up on a... More

Dear ShyNi... Thank you so much for your kind review. During Spring Break this year, all of our trails were open to the public. While there are conservation efforts which go on in the park, this year all of the trails were able to stay open for our guests. I apologize if this was not made clear to you during... More

We stayed here in February and enjoyed it. This was our second stay. We really went just to eat at the restaurant but decided to stay the night. We really enjoyed the meals at the restaurant. The chef has been there for three years. He came out and talked to us. It was clear that he enjoyed his job there.... More
