Before I begin, please understand that my opinion of the lodge in no way negatively influences my desire to visit the Canyon of the Eagles nature park in the future. I have visited the park many times before and will continue to do so as it is a beautiful place well worth experiencing. I will get right to the heart... more

My husband and I chose Canyon of the Eagles to celebrate our 5-year anniversary, and it was absolutely perfect! We loved the rooms, our patio overlooking the lake, the beautiful garden and pool on grounds, and the surrounding hiking trails and lake. We spent one night and tried to pack in as much as possible. We brought our kayaks and... more

Rate was $175, rooms were rustic but with nice bed linens and clean. Nice pool area and beautiful view of lake Buchanan from our room. There is a beautiful view of the lake from the restaurant which is the only convenient place to eat in the vacinity. The "lodge" is actually cabins, each cabin houses 4 rooms each with separate... more

My husband, 10-year-old daughter and I went to Canyon of the Eagles for two nights over Spring Break. I booked late and all they had left were a couple of cabins for $195 per night. I read up on the amenities and activities and the woman I spoke to said the cabin sat a bit apart in a woodsy area... more

We went to Canyon of the Eagles for our first vacation with our 2-month old baby. We really wanted to get away to the country and go camping, but wanted a comfortable situation for our first vacation with baby. It was also important that we be able to bring our three dogs with us as well. Canyon of the Eagles... more

We went to Canyon of the Eagles because it promised a quiet getaway. It wasn't. We went over Thanksgiving weekend and found it crowded and noisy. This place may be very nice if you book it mid-week when schools are in session. Certainly it's a lovely setting nestled among the trees. But over the holiday weekend, it was mostly filled... more

We spent 3 nights at this privately operated nature reserve in October. It nestles just above Lake Buchannan about 17 miles from Burnet and is at the end of the road - so isolated and peaceful. It is a beautiful location for nature lovers and hikers as the resort boasts 14 miles of hiking trails. The accomodation is in cabins... more

We chose Canyon of the Eagles because we were looking for a great place to to use the telescope we recently bought. We weren't disappointed. The night sky was great. We plan to go back but next time it will be in spring or fall. The Hill Country in late summer is too hot and dry for daytime activities to... more

Made reservation directly with Lodge. Checked in on a Sunday afternoon. Room was clean and adequate for 4 persons. Unfortunately, no one told us that the dining facility was closed on Sunday and Monday. (Found that out at 6:30 pm when we went to go and try to eat dinner.) Closest town approximately 20 miles away. Was told the operator... more

My family stayed at Canyon of the Eagles on a Sunday night so there was not alot to do at the lodge at that time. They have entertainment scheduled on the weekends but by Sunday, it is almost a ghost town. Everything was closed including the restaurant, store, and boat rentals. We stayed in a cottage room and were quite... more
