While traveling with relatives from the Houston area on January 18, 2016, my wife and I experienced the rudest restaurant service imaginable at the Blessing Hotel restaurant. The young women (had to use young women because young lady would imply some sort of refinement) clearing tables asked where we were from." I responded the other couple was from Houston and... More

I stopped here for lunch after several referrals from colleagues. It is primarily a local haunt. They offer a luscious lunchtime spread complete with meatloaf, butter beans, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, green salad, potato and peach cobbler. Its serve yourself so once a waistband acknowledges you, feel free to grab a plate and head over to the stove. It's like $10

The quiet murmur of small town talk, barely audible over the smacking of lips and the sighs of contentment, interspersed with random crunching of fried chicken and chicken fried steaks. Leaving here hungry would be your own damn fault.

A good deal and actually the only deal in town. That doesn't diminish the charm of this place. The room I had (10) could have used closer attention to cleaning. The floor is also quite slanted but it's a 109 year old building so there is that. Bed was pretty comfy and I got a good nights rest. So no... More

Have taken large groups of really HUNGRY "bikers" there on several occassions, never a disappointment. Quality food at a reasonable price. Well worth the ride from the Houston/Galveston area. We will be back!

Never stayed at the hotel, however we have been to the coffee shop several times and have never been disappointed. Today is our 43rd anniversary and we will be making the road trip from Rockport to Blessing for our anniversary dinner. The menu today includes fried chicken, turkey and dressing, sausage plus various vegetables.....

The lunch buffet is plentiful and filling. The food is served from the stove and diners just grab a plate and help themselves. All of the food is prepared in the large kitchen and taste very homemade. The hotel has a hallway in which photos and articles about its history are posted. This is a fun and interesting place to... I loved this place. Traveling through Texas, I happened on this hotel by chance and had the stay the moment I saw it. It's like a trip back in time and miles from strip mall motel anonymity. This place has real character, the staff were friendly, the breakfast excellent and at $35 a night the rooms were just fine. This... More

The Hotel Blessing is historic and charming and worth a stay at $35/ night for the feeling of early 20th century Texas. Rooms are small, spare, and most share a bathroom. Ours had a small refrigerator, a microwave, a gas heater, and a window AC. Beds are ok and the bathrooms are old, of course, and reasonably clean. Reports from... More

I understand your concerns and I know that we have a lot of work to do here at the hotel. We are constantly trying our best and as you know the building is 107 years old and when we have the funding we do as much as possible. I apologize about the lock on the door I have to order... More

Second visit in a year, second disappointment. It seems to my wife and me that we love the idea of this venerable old place...but the food is not much to write home about. On our latest visit, the meats were cold and tasteless, and even the vegetables were bland and uninspired. You have to want to come here if you're... More
