Just returned to New Jersey from a great vacation in Texas which we finished off with 2 nights at The Dixie Dude Ranch. We decided on the Dixie based on the reviews here and were not disappointed, this place is fantastic, the only regret was not spending longer. Our 2 boys, 12 and 10, had a blast riding the horses,... This show is great and the food excellent. Although it sea pricey it is well worth the money! The press show band is great and hilarious! Large portions of delicious food! We will attend this show when visiting this area!!!

It was real fun. We spent part of our honeymoon there and really enjoyed it. The housing is simple but comfortable - you are on a ranch. The horseback riding was fantastic and can be done by anyone without any major experience. The people at the ranch are very engaged and helpful, making you really feel welcome. I utmost enjoyed... It has long been a desire of mine to visit Texas & stay on a ranch. There was quite a few to choose from but the Dixie Dude Ranch caught my eye. The email correspondence from Kim was very helpful & friendly. I booked my husband and I in for a 2 night stay, that was my only disappointment! I... More

Dixie Dude Ranch is a wonderful family getaway experience. You get to eat truly home cooked Texan meals, prepared and served for you by some wonderful ladies who always have a smile on their faces. They particularly enjoy a banter with the kids. Pancakes, sausages, eggs, fresh fruit and cereals for breakfast. Soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta for lunch. Fish and... More

We stayed at Dixie Dude Ranch for three nights over Spring Break, with our 5 year old, 4 year old and my mother. We were looking for a place where the kids could play outside, where we could unplug, and where we could ride double with the little ones. We chose the perfect place. We rode twice each day, and... When we visited Texas, our son (5.5) wanted to meet a cowboy. So we got online to find a place that met a few criteria- 1.) Was an actual, working, ranch 2.) Our kids could ride horses 3.)Was "away" from a city 4.) had clean accommodations with meals provided. 5.) had a pool. Dixie Dude Ranch was right on the... More

I only went for a one hour horseback trail ride. The wrangler Joe was very helpful in making sure that I had the best experience possible. I did not stay overnight at one of the cabins but that is in my future plans.

Living in a ranch as we thought it could be... just better. Accomodation ( nice little cottage), horse riding in beautiful scenery with cow boys out of a movie, very friendly people, good food, entertainment. Even the dogs have a real sense of hospitality, going for a walk with you. Fantastic experience that we highly recommend.

We rode about 3 hours over two days on real nice trails, valleys and hills. Better than simple flat wide trails. Meals were less than "ranch" style - hot dogs, meat loaf, chicken, dry pasta, chili and other simple foods. Flavors were not bold; basic salt and pepper. Desserts were grocery store made like sheet cake and brownies. No meals... More
