My co-leader and I took our girl scout troop to Rancho Cortez for an over night stay. The girls, ranging in ages 8 to 11(9 girls total) loved the ranch and did not want to leave the next day. The bunk house was fantastic. The older girls loved having their own room and both adults got to have our own... More

My mother recently retired, and decided to take my father, myself, boyfriend, and two children ages 9 and 12 on a small family vacation. After a little online research, she found and booked a three day stay at the ranch Cortez. There were a few things I didn't like: rooms are basically beds, dresser and bathroom, there were no refrigerators... More

True, so to speak, to the best fiction — campfire tales of Texas history, the Alamo and cowboys, after dinner and S’mores, into the evening — mounting a horse and moving at the slowest gait along Hill Country trails twice daily does not a cowboy make. But both are sufficient to transport you beyond your urban life into some serenity... More

We came from New Hampshire with 2 young boys ages 8 and 5. The kids said it the best day of their life so far (and they went to Disneyworld this year!) We did the half day at the ranch. There is so much to do and you can choose to stay busy or just relax and enjoy the scenery.... More

Rancho Cortez is a great spot for a family vacation and was the highlight of our trip to Texas. We all loved riding the horses and the cowboys made every excursion fun and interesting - from good conversation to visiting the longhorn cattle. We all enhoyed the campfire with marshmellows and stories at the end of the evenings, too, under... More

My son has Rancho Cortez and the Disney Cruise as a tie for his #1 vacation choice. Everything is better than five star. The food was delicious the activities are as non-stop or as relaxed as you want them to be. The campfire stories and marshmallows were such a great way to end the day. The staff was second to... My wife and I checked in for the fitness camp on a Sunday afternoon. It's exactly as their website says. Not fancy or luxury. Cabins very basic but clean. Beautiful, rugged scenery. Food was down to earth but healthy. Fitness classes, especially with Michael, were very good. They seem genuinely interested in you as a person and in helping you... More

My kids said it was better than Disney World! Room was great, food was good, service was good. It is a dude ranch so rustic and basic but everything was clean and tidy! Larry went above and beyond to make sure he accommodated our wants/needs. We stayed two nights and this was the perfect amount of time. Got to ride... More

We stayed in December 2013. I have waited to write this review so that I can compare to other holidays and can say this was the best week of the last 12 months. The wranglers, Mark, Chris and (young) Alex were excellent and so good to us. We went on two rides each day and when it was quiet during... More
