This truly is a dude ranch resort. Stay in quaint rock cabins or lodge rooms. Two 1- hour horse rides through scenic hills or along Medina River. Lots of optional activities throughout the day like a cowboy breakfast, hayrides, photo ops on a longhorn steer, games and other activities. Hike the trails over more than 300 acres, fish, swim, tube,... More

This was our first time to a dude ranch! We went the week before Chrstimas and I have to say we loved it. The FOOD is AMAZING! Get ready to eat, you will not go hungry. It was great for family fun and relaxing. My 13 year old and I never had been around horses so it was a great... More

My family spent our first 4 days of winter vacation at the Mayan, before going on to San Antonio. We absolutely loved this place!! The people who worked there, as well as the other guests, were some of the nicest you could hope for. The ranch is absolutely beautiful. We rode horses every day, played fun games after dinner, and... More

We appreciate your positive review of your recent stay at the Mayan, and we are pleased you enjoyed participating in our activities. We agree that the Cowboy Breakfast cookout is “a must” on your Mayan vacation; there is nothing like being surrounded by the beauty of nature, enjoying a meal prepared on an open fire by the river. At the... More

This was a relaxing place to hang out, but not enough to do in the winter. When the weather turned rainy and cold, there just wasn't enough to do to justify the price. At a very minimum, in the main building, they need to maintain their board game collection and maybe have a jigsaw puzzle going. A fire in the... More

We are urban, east coast folks, and I first proposed a visit to a dude ranch to my husband as a joke. But the idea grew on us, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our three-week tour of the Texas hill country. After leaving the town of Bandara, we knew we had reached the Mayan... More

This is just a magical place to stay. We did a trip around Texas for two weeks and this was by far the most relaxed and wonderful part of our stay. We had contacted the ranch before we stayed and were informed that if we arrived before the afternoon ride at 2.30 we could participate in that which was great... More

This was our first dude ranch experience, and it did not disappoint. Let’s be clear up front, this is not one of those “working ranches” where you drive cattle and such. This is a great vacation spot, where you can enjoy the country life for a while. The day begins with your choice of breakfast at the main building, or... More

Been living in Texas for long time but this is the first time I've experienced this. At first my tween is not keen on going since there's no wifi in the cabins but as she rode her horse for the first time, she's hooked. We met a lot of people and made friends. The hayride was enjoyable everyday going to... More

We stayed as a group as four adults so were a little concerned the ranch would be fully geared towards children. This isn't the case and we very much enjoyed our stay. The cabins were definitely on the rustic side but this is very much the character of the ranch, they were comfortable and the setting was lovely. The pool... More
