This was our 2nd stay at Gateway Inn and will be the only place we stay from now on when we visit Townsend. I can't say enough how clean this place is and how friendly the owners are. They go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need and are comfortable.Loved the baskets of goodies they... More

My husband and I stayed only one night at this place - we arrived late and left early in the morning to visit Cades Cove before the rush of cars and people. Only 9 miles from Cades Cove, this place is a great location! However, this is a small town where shops close early. We bought our grocery at Pigeon... More

This is a very well run, clean inn located just outside the Smoky Mountain National Park. It is a superb location near so many attractions (Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Cades Cove, the Tail of the Dragon, Foothills Parkway), yet it is a very peaceful quiet spot. When you get an actual key to your room with the plastic fob, you feel... More

Agree with the most of the other written reviewers, but feel their star rating is a bit high. This is a family run/owned, nicely refurbished 50's type motel. Mike was very helpful and friendly. We liked that it was a small motel with spacious units, comfortable beds (one in our room had a memory foam topper), nice linens, refrig, microwave,... More

We certainly agree with all the good reviews listed. We are a group of mostly "senior" hikers who have been getting together since 1995. Our hikes have dwindled from 10-12 miles per day in our early years to anywhere from 3 -8 miles a day now. Our first year was in the Smokies and we hiked to LeConte for overnighter.Anyway... More

OK, didn't mean to scare you with that title. BUT..... My wife and I love Gateway Inn. But in their drive to be ECO friendly, they about drove me nutty. We stayed several days and enjoyed everything except the cleaning crew. On night one, we walked into a sauna. Out side temperature was 80 and the room was about 85... More

We stayed for 5 nights at the end of June 2012. Older motel, but it has been restored and is soooo nice. Each room has quilts on the beds. It feels more like a B & B rather than a motel. In-room refrigerator, microwave and coffee. They gave us a small basket of goodies (breakfast pastries, pretzels, crackers, etc.) and... More

My wife and I stayed June 24, 2012 and were 100% satisfied. Not only did the rooms look great, there was a family atmosphere that made us feel at home. TV reception was great, refrigerator and air conditioner worked perfect. We did not hear the usual loud noises we hear when staying at the big national chain motels. There is... More

We stayed here for one night during our vacation to the Smokies. This is an older motel, but the owners have taken great care to update the rooms. I would definitely recommend this place.

My husband and I came to this Inn because we read all the good reviews on trip advisor. The room was beautiful. I love that they have a pair of rocking chairs on the porches in front of the rooms that look out to the beautiful view. I feel like we got so much more than what we paid for.... More
