We miss the old Wonderland Hotel, but the new one is definitely a step up as far as the facility goes and the setting is lovely. Access to the park is convenient but if you had to stay at the hotel or especially if it rained every day, staying here would be much more relaxing than most other hotels.

We are lovers of the rustic atmosphere of the Wonderland hotel. Our first stay was in the old hotel on the access road to Elkmont in the fall of the year it closed. The old place was originally a home for the loggers who cut the lumber for shipping along the old river road railway that is now the main... More

First I will say I had a great time at the Wonderland Lodge. I was there for a wedding and the management was very nice and accomadating to our large group. We had alot of fun! The view from the front porch is gorgeous and peaceful. The location is convenient to Townsend as well as Pigeon Forge. Now to the... More

I had a wonderful visit the last week of October. The staff was very helpful and considerate, the food was delicious, beds were very comfortable, but the peace and serenity I experienced in sitting on that long porch in the swing looking out at the mountains while having my early morning coffee is something that stays with me each day.... Our first view of the Lodge was at night. After driving around winding mountain roads, we rounded the last curve and there it was. Sitting on a hill, a long, long front porch lit with icicle lights made my first impression a good one. Stepping inside we realized it probably was incredible when first built, however, tacky, cutesy country/rustic decorations... More

We just returned from Tennessee on Aug.27 and this makes the 8th time we've stayed at the Wonderland Lodge.Having read a prior post dated Aug 24. I have to say in all fairness I totally disagree. First there was no septic problem, the well pump had been struck by lighting causing the guests to use all the water in the holding... More

My family along with two others were appalled by the lack of service that the Wonderland Hotel offered. Eventhough the sign in the room states that they do not offer cleaning services to guest who stay less than 4 days for "environmental" reasons, we thought surely they didn't mean not taking out the trash or making the beds! After having... More

In all the places I've stayed, None have ever matched the peace and serenity of the Wonderland Lodge. The views at both dawn and dusk are breath taking. The Management treat you as if you were family and go out of their way to make your stay pleasurable and relaxing. Yet you're only minutes from Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg.

The Wonderland Hotel is a beautiful reminder of my honeymoon almost 11 years ago. We married on Dec. 4, 1993, and relatives gave us several nights at The Wonderland. We were the only visitors at that time b/c of the approaching holidays and it was during the week. It was wonderful. We were treated like royalty. I have such special... More

The place is spooky. It was shut down and is surrounded by a high chain link fence, but you can still sense the glory of it's days.
