I just got back from spending the weekend of the 4th at the Loews Vanderbilt. My husband and I decided to take a roadtrip and get out of town last-minute for fun. But we didn't have arrangments for our dog so our options were limited when searching for dog-friendly hotels. We found the Loews and quickly made a reservation. I... more

Stayed three nights here. 1. Location: Close to the university but a bit of a hike to downtown and so a cab needed to go there. 2. Rooms: large, clean and very well stocked with all the usual amenities 3. Restaurant/Bar: we didn't eat at the restaurant. The bar was pretty dead the couple of times we went, other than... more

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Loews two time within a week. Our daughter went into labor and was delivering at Baptist Hospital. After the late night call and traveling from Georgia through the night, we checked into the Loews and was greeted by the lovely Mary, who immediately started our stay out as the best experience... more

We got a good deal on Hotwire for $118. I wouldn't pay above that though. It doesn't feel like a 4 star hotel. Our room felt small and was close to a lift and quiet noisy as a result. The location near the university is nice but it is 2 miles from Downtown. Parking was expensive. We travelled with our... more

Perfectly good quality business hotel. Nothing truly notable, but comfortable bed, good service. Staff at the front desk were a bit stiff, but the bellmen were very friendly. more

My husband booked this hotel for a weekend trip to celebrate my birthday. I have to admit, I'm a bit of a hotel snob. The idea of sleeping where other people have slept and not knowing how clean the rooms actually are creeps me out. With that said, we loved the Loews Vanderbilt. The room was large, with a nice... more

The Leows offers nothing special. Although the lobby is nice, the rooms is lacking in some basic areas. The heating and cooling system is the worst I've dealt with. Blower was constantly on and, unless the heat was on, blowing out cold air. Only way to stop the fan is to shut the system completely off...not what you want on... more

We stayed at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel over the Thanksgiving weekend. Mostly a business hotel, there were very few people staying there at that time. The hotel is large and the rooms very quiet. The lobby has a pleasant restaurant and separate, comfortable bar with a piano player that also serves as a coffee bar until noon. The Kraus paintings and... more

Certain aspects define a true luxury hotel. Sure, at this Loew's, they have the robes and the embroidered towels, but I left thinking that this hotel is more of an upscale Marriott (just short of a JW Marriott, that is) rather than the luxury property it bills itself as. I had similar impressions of the Loew's in Miami. The good:... more
