A little far off from downtown. Found it to be clean but could use a lot of updating. If you are only using it to stay the night it's fine but I would not stay more than a night. Previous reviews claimed of prostitutes and drug deals but we didn't see any of that. Stayed in the main courtyard where... More

Coupon at the rest stop/retro picture,"stay where the stars stay" suckered me in/got a room..propped chair against the door/knocked on several times all night I played dead. Hey! I could be overdosing, entertaining a John, dead from a stab wound, or whatever goes for "too busy" /planned to sleep in....once daylight came... I hit the road.I reported the knocking to... More

We are from canada and have been coming to nashville twice a year for 15 years. I always stay at the drake. Yes it is in a seedy neighborhood and yes there is prostitutes and strange characters but it has its history and own charm. We always get room 117 which is the jacuzzi room and is on the parking... Staying at the Drake Motel was fantastic. The 1993 blockbuster with River Phoenix, "A Thing Called Love" was made here. It's pivotal to the movie. I could just feel the inspiration coming to me. Time to write a hit country song. The people at the Drake were fantastic. Many would-be songwriters, producers, and guitar players. Stay at the Drake and... More

This place is terrible. Cockroaches, not clean, sketchy people hanging around all night. Had 3 different people 6 different times knock on my door in the middle of the night waking me up. Luckily I didn't answer the door. I'm positive they were trying to rob me. No help from the staff and no refund. Stay away from this place... More

No, it's not a national chain with a mint on the pillow. The location is good, though, and the price ($60 all-in on a weekday) was great. The room was clean and spacious (microwave and small fridge) and our room (104) had a couple of interesting Elvis murals thrown in for good measure. There were some interesting characters around, but... More

Do not stay here. Looks quaint by day in a bad part of town. At night it turns into a drug and prostitute filled nightmare. Rooms are dirty and strange pounding on door at 3 am by the local drug dealer who we had to call police on. Do not stay here, spend the extra 30,40,50,100 dollars and keep your... More

I stayed here for one night with my boyfriend. We were coming from Crossville and wanted to spend saturday night in Nashville so we booked a room here. I have to say, if I had read the reviews before I would never have chosen this place, but I was not the one who chose it. It is dirty and in... More

The story. We were sitting in our room when a black guy knocked on our door. I stupidly answered the door. He asked if we want drugs(all types, pills, weed) I declined anything. That was not a good answer. He acted as if he had a gun in his pants and saId he has stuff he needs to sell so... More

We were intrigued by this classic 60s motel, still with its vintage sign that boasts 'where the stars stay.' How could we not be charmed? Plus, it was St Patrick's day weekend, the beginning of Spring break, and the local hockey team were playing, so all the other Nashville hotels were booked or 300$ a night. Don't stay here! The...
