This hotel has been at its current location since 1956. All my wife and I require is a low cost safe hotel. We have been comming here for fanfare for years.The staff is on duty 24/7 and we use the pool. We have never had an issue with staff or any of the guest. more

Came in from KY on our way to FL. VERY NICE and CLEAN hotel. Employees are very courteous and even accomodated our late checkout request. Rate was very reasonable and the proximity to downtown are unbeatable. Better than paying $200 in downtown for the same kind of room. Hotel is just like it is depicted in the movies. We were enticed to this place initially by the low advertised price. Only to find out (after being charged) that they had a 25% TAX. You heard right 25%. The Drake Motel was very disappointing. The room was old and out-dated and it was filthy. There were stains on the carpet defy description. A panel fell out of the ceiling and there was a large hole going straight into the attic. It is by far the worst motel that I have seen in the United States. more

My friend and I just wanted a cheap room close to downtown for one night. This motel is awful for the price you pay! We paid $220 for 3 nights! and it was awful! There were stains all over the sheets, there were holes in the wall and there were insects everywhere! It was gross! You couldn't walk to downtown from here you had to get a bus or taxi...and the area was so dodgy!... more
