Location, location, location...............This bed and breakfast was located in a quiet historic neighborhood only a five minute drive from downtown Nashville. Owner and host, Ellen Warshaw, was so helpful in making our two days in the area really match what we wanted to do. She made wonderful recommendations based on our needs and interests, wrote down detailed directions so we... more

While planning a 3-day work trip in Nashville, I decided to try something different and stay at The Big Bungalow. Ellen is the perfect host. I had to miss her big breakfast every morning because I left so early, but she always left a banana, muffin, and juice out for me. The neighborhood is in the process of being revitalized,... more

First, let me say that Nashville is my hometown. When the trip was planned I was quite knowledgeable about areas of town and what I wanted in a hotel. I just didnt find it in any of the downtown chain hotels. The Big Bungalow was perfect! Ellen was a fabulous host. She was happy to make suggestions for wonderful local... more

Big Bungalow is a little heavenly nest in the middle of Nashville. I loved every minute spent there and I only wished I stayed longer (I was on a business trip for 3 days). The art around you, natural breakfast, elegant rooms, quality and good taste in everything there create very positive energy. If you are a person who appreciates... more

This Ohio family of four (kids, 2 girls, 12 & 14) found fabulous family time over a long weekend in Nashville. Our accommodations at the Big Bungalow were absolutely comfortable, easy-going and charming. The lovely, warm proprietess felt like a long time friend. She shared her extensive knowledge about Nashville and the area. Her recommendations proved very helpful as it... more

Love the Edgefield/Lockeland Springs neighborhood, love Ellen's verve and hospitality, love the artwork. Ellen's breakfasts are fantastic and I will always stay there when I'm in Nashville. In the projects? Please! I parked on the streets all three nights I was there. You want total predictability and blandness....stay in the Radisson or Marriott. You want the flavor of new Nashville,... more

From the moment I entered this charming cottage, I was thrilled. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by lavender window sashes and comfy wicker furniture on the front porch. So inviting and relaxing. My room was the largest and was beautiful and had a big bed with a fluffy comforter and large pillows. An elegant antique English settee was perfect... more

I can't say enough good things about the Big Bungalow. I have stayed with Ellen since my son moved to Nashville in 2005. She runs a cozy B & B near to town in the East Nashville section of town. It is an up and coming area with many little restaurants, coffee shops and art galleries. I don't understand the... more

My husband and I stayed her for a special anniversary weekend. I thought some of the negative comments about this place were unfair, especially from the folks who wouldn't even give it a shot. The area of town is mixed incomes but has beautiful revitilization going on. We always felt safe there. In fact, we enjoyed riding around and looking... more

My husband and I were in Nashville for a weekend together. We were excited to reserve a room at the Big Bungalow based on how beautiful and close to downtown the website portrayed it. We exited off the interstate based on the directions on the Big Bungalow's website and found us to be in the middle of what appeared to... more
