My wife and I spent several days in Nashville and we were looking for a less expensive place to stay downtown. The Capitol Hotel is the place. Pros: -Free breakfast everyday with a nice assortment of cereals, waffles, biscuits, eggs, juice and coffee. -Walkable to downtown, especially the Broadway honkey tonks. -Complimentary granola bar and bottle of water on check... The hotel is under renovations - once they are fully complete, the hotel will be great. Our guestroom was renovated, but some of the common areas were not yet complete during our stay. One thing to keep in mind - the hotel does not have interior hallways to access guestrooms. The hotel is nicer than a motel, but this particular... More

Like other reviewers, I came home with bites consistent with bed bugs. The motel does have protective coverings for the beds that are supposed to help prevent bed bugs, but those only do so much. It's up to the motel to take proactive measures to ensure the room remains clean and free of pests, which, judging by the overall condition... More

This hotel is a mom and pop stop owned by a group of investors that takes a hands on approach to maximizing the customer experience. Very clean lobby but the hotel is a bit dated. The rooms were good size and the stay was reasonably priced, especially because there were no hotel rooms available in Nashville for the weekend we... More

Room was clean comfortable bed not sure about all complaints. Good breakfast included.staff was friendly from front desk to valet to housekeeping. Stayed 2 nights jul 20-21. 5 dollar cab ride to Broadway or take golf carts that drive around town for tips and are often by hotel.if you can get a good rate don't think you would be disappointed... We had to cut down on expenses for our multi-city trip and the price of this could not be beat. If you haven't been to Nashville before, you really want to be near Broadway. This hotel was a few minutes easy walk to that area. The neighborhood is safe, very close to the Capitol and the Tennesee State Museum with... More

It's 10 months since my visit to this hotel & after reading the current reviews, sounds like not much has changed. The manager keeps saying basically the same thing to everyone, sorry & hope you will give the hotel another try. Nothing about a reduced rate for the inconvenience on your next stay!!

We value all responses and we appreciate your point of view. Our building is the historic homesite of the 14th president James Polk. The building is over 60 years old which is a difficult reconstruction and is not to be considered a easy renovation. The internal and reinforced structural supports were the 1st undertaking, totally new guest rooms, bathrooms and... More

First impression was quite bad. We were not welcomed with a 'hello' or 'how are you today', but a stare down, and felt like we were more of an inconvenience than a paying customer. This should be addressed asap. The lady who helped us check out was much more friendly and that was nice to see. The rooms were clean...... More

We are sorry to hear that your perception and impression was not favorable. That is not who we are. To hear about your experience in a survey and not have an opportunity to address it while you were here, is disappointing. It is always helpful to let property management know when something is not right. It has more impact (than... More

Room was clean, taxi stand right outside of hotel if taxi needed, within walking distance to the Grand Old Opry Museum, Rymen, Pucketts restaurance, etc. Very pleased with everything. Reading past reviews I was a little hesitant booking this hotel, but I'm glad I did as the price was right.

Pretty much one of the cheapest hotels in the city. A good place to sleep and close enough that you can walk all over the city. Renovations are still happening so there were many inconveniences during our stay. Overall not a bad place - nothing fancy but comfortable.

Appreciate you commenting and thank you for staying with us. Renovations are now close to completion and will be worth the wait. There's nothing more satisfying than taking something and improving it to make it better. The reality is that any improvement will take time. However, we appreciate you giving us a try and for understanding what we are doing.... More
