Called in on our way back from a weekend in sassafrass, accidentally missing all the wineries and were ready for lunch. It happened to be seafood sunday, though there standard menu was also available. The host was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and explained the menu well. We went with the seafood platter for 2 at $90.00 and were pleasantly surprised... More

I would stay and eat here again when in Yea. This is a lovely old building on the main road into Yea. The nicely decorated and comfortable hotel rooms are upstairs and there is a balcony for the use of all guests. The service was great from the last minute phone call to make the booking through to checking in... More

We stayed in the blue garden suite. It was Thoughtfully decorated. Nice comfy beds. The hotel was closed, on Monday & Tuesday so we were there alone on those days. It seemed very strange. The room was not serviced for our stay. There is a very messy garden & noisy kitchen next door which are the only main drawbacks.

My partner and I stayed here last year, if I had to complain about something, it would be that I had to leave. The staff were fantastic, the food was sensational and the room certainly did not disappoint.

The lunch menu provided plenty of choice, be it meat, fish or vegetarean, which was presented with an artistic flare, savouring subtle tastes. A rarity these days. As it was August the open fire was a welcome addition to an already cosy atmosphere. Many people bypass the Peppercorn as it is situated off the main street opposite the old railway... More

Though yea was not the sleepy hollow I imagined it to be, My partner and I were well impressed with our 'digs' at the peppercorn, a couple of blocks away from the busy Main Street. Bold, asiatic design and lashings of seductive scarlet set the mood for a couple's escape. (As those in the know might guess, we were in... More

If their was a 4.5 I would award it to this property! I loved the service and appreciated the upgrade. I enjoyed the dinner downstairs. The room was spacious and preserved some period features. The bathroom was well appointed and I always like a claw foot bath! Heating was good and access to the balcony was lovely for breakfast. Large... More

Check in via a bar is always lovely as you ponder the facilities over a gin. The building has old world charm with a narrow winding staircase so heavy bags beware. Our room (upgraded!) was spacious and eclectically decorated. The heating was perfect as was the water temp and huge claw bathtub. We didn't eat in as limited veggo options... More

We are a group of 4 riding the rail trail and this is our first overnight stop after cycling from Tallarook. We were given the Red Room and the Veranda Room. Both are outstanding. Good aircon to warm us up, lovely bed with a doona, coffee tea and a continental breakfast. The large shower with lovely hard hot water to... More

We paid $175 for the Red room - Disappointing, probably only worth about $125. The bed base is a queen but the mattress is a double, and really poor quality (feels old and cheap and saggy). The TV was an old 1980's box TV with a set-top box on top and an Occy Strap holding the two together onto a hospital... More

Hi NinjaTravelator Thank you for your constructive review . It is a shame that our 158 year old establishment was not up to your expectations , as we seem to get so many positive comments about how lovely our rooms are. Unfortunately having four of our suites upstairs does make it a little difficult to avoid using a staircase .... More
