As a couple embarking on a 2nd marriage each, we chose Balgownie Estate after a site inspection of the property and it ticking all the boxes we required for our special day. Our celebration was to be all about good food, good people and good wine and we are happy to report we achieved all 3, and more. The simple... More

CHECK INVOICES CAREFULLY & BANK ACCOUNT AFTERWARDS! Our stay was ruined after deciding to dine at their restaurant where the service was appalling, the food was ordinary and everything on the menu was extremely overpriced. To top it all off and upon check-out, an additional restaurant bill of $230 had been added to our final invoice. We discussed with the... More

My partner had to attend a 2 day conference at Healesville & I had to be "chauffeur". We stayed here in 1 of the spa rooms (upstairs) which has a fabulous view of the mountains, grounds & tennis court. It also has a galley style kitchenette with your basic hotel fare, mini-bar & microwave. I am vertically challenged so it... More

My hubby & I stayed one night for our 30th wedding anniversary. The room surfaces were dirty - the glass table had many marks on it, the kitchen bench area looked liked it need a good scrub and my bedside table had a glass mark on it. Then to top it off, when I went to make myself a cuppa,... More

We stopped at the Belgownie Estate on our way to leave Australia from our holiday, as it is only 40 minutes from the Airport. We have visited before but this is the first time we have stayed. We chose the better rooms, and these were in nice condition, large, and included table and chairs so you could have breakfast in... More

We booked in advance for Valentine's Day with a Red Balloon voucher I had. If I hadn't had the voucher I probably wouldn't spend almost $400 for 1 night, in saying that it was a beautiful place to stay. We stayed in a privellage spa suite which was certainly very spacious with a big comfy couch, coffee machine, bar fridge,... More

My husband and i stayed here for one night over the long weekend. It took 15 minutes to check into our room as there was only one receptionist working and a room full of guests waiting to check in. The room was decent. The TV remote was not working, no wifi and there was mould in the bathroom shower. The... More

We, together with my parents, stayed at Balgownie Estate in a two bedroom spa suite to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The suite we stayed in was not the one pictured on the website as we only had one washbasin in each bathroom so not quite as luxurious as expected. Nor was the Nespresso machine or turndown service supplied as... More

I would like to apologise that it did not meet your expectations and would like to address the concerns you raise. The room that you booked was a two bedroom spa. Stayed with hubby for wedding anniversary. One night stay. Found the resort to be pleasant and clean. Stayed in a Privilege Spa room. Nice room. Very comfy bed and central spa looking out through lounge and balcony to mountains outside was novel. Booked with voucher which helped make room prices affordable. Wine tastings were nice, well informed people and reasonable... More

Stayed 1 night with my hubby & 3 kids in interconnecting Room. Very last min booking for long weekend. Price $610 1 night included breakfast. First up impression is stunning. However, was very disappointed in rooms. Flies galore when we arrived in room, it was clear the room had not been double checked prior to check in. Complementary Robe they... More
