overpriced, mostly packaged food ,reheated or deep fried, amateurish service , untrained manageress ,expensive drinks, soft live good music turning into very loud noises as the evening goes by, due to the sudden full use of a distortion pedal...as dinner music (??? ),complete lack of common sense in the running of this beautiful hotel due to pure management ignorance, frequented... Thought it would be nice to enjoy an old fashioned pub meal while spending a relaxing weekend in the Yarra Valley. Everything started off well. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere was calm and highlighted the heritage of the region. Started with wedges which were hot and tasty. Unfortunately the main courses were a total let down! The Lambs... More

the winter deal was cheap and cheerful... 3 course pub meal included with continental breakfast included... the rooms were a decent size.. good bed and tasteful and historic bathrooms... would have loved a balcony or some outdoor access but only had to walk down the hall 20 steps to achieve this... it had atmosphere including squeaky floors.. access to the... a very nice old building but is looking a bit tired (and annoyingly the picture rail is not original and has been mounted too low). the room we booked with friends was two room with one Q bed and one fold out sofa. (we got the sofa) the bathroom is ok but needs attention, the light switches and power points... More

Probably needs a bit of a renovation but I enjoyed a lunch last Friday with a couple of my local customers. Food was good and so was the price not too mention a couple of glasses of the local red wine which went down very well. I would like to come back a stay a night so I could really... More

Had a group lunch on 130414. We were there early and we were one of the first to place orders. A couple of meals arrived in a reasonable time, a few more arrived after 45 minutes, last two arrived one hour and ten minutes after orders were placed. I realise it was busy Sunday lunchtime, but there are no excuses... More

We stayed 1 night whilst exploring the wineries. This hotel is great value. It is not swanky but better than basic. Comfy bed; good shower and helpful staff. Food was excellent - $15 steak night - the best value meal in Oz so far! Easy brekkie - would highly recommend.

On the last day in Oz before our midnight flight we were taken to Yarra Valley for a pleasent sunday visiting wineries etc. We had lunch (carvery) at the Yarra Glen Grand Hotel. Excellent quality. Choice of meats, roast veg..just like being back home in Wales. I love these Victorian hotels in Australia. I will return, next time I intend... More

Lovely pub, in a fantastic location for touring around the wineries. Room was perfect, not 5 star but lovely comfy bed, tv, not sure what else you could want. Breakfast was self serve and really tasty. Would come again.
