My husband and I had the perfect weekend getaway in the Mornington Peninsula while staying at Hummingbird Eco Retreat. The surrounding grounds are just beautiful and so are the converted buildings. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and accommodated a late dinner for us the night we arrived. Great dinner! We also had breakfast there, which was ok. They... More

We stayed at Hummingbird for one night, while in Red Hill for an event. The staff are very friendly and the location was perfect for our visit. The rooms were very simple and could do with an upgrade (bathroom was a little dated & there was only one bedside table for two guests), although still comfortable. The view from our... More

The place is serene, people are genuinely friendly and smile with their eyes, their healthy senses come across their food. Had fantastic dinner, fresh food, lots of wine over 2 nights yet came out feeling the best. Their breakfast green drink ( kale) is to die for, everything is organic and rustic all round. Lots of birds too. This is... More

We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a beautiful king suite with a cosy fireplace. Jane is such a warm generous host who makes you feel right at home. And add to that delicious organic food at the restaurant, which uses produce from their own garden and Yoga on site and you have the perfect location for a beautiful... More

Just spent my second stay at Hummingbird. I've read all the reviews. Yes, it can be a bit noisy due to floor boards but this all stops by about 10 pm. No TV - great for me. The best parts about staying here are the location, the friendly service, the fabulous chef and restaurant, the sustainable practices (vegetable garden, bore... More

I spent a night at the 'retreat' and was disappointed. I wasn't expecting much but it really was rather shabby. My friend wanted to stay there so I booked a standard room. It was upgraded for some reason. I don't know why because when I got there around 6 in the evening a message was left on the reception room... More

The hotel: average sized rooms; lovely garden views. Yoga classes on certain days. There is a lovely national reserve walk which you can get on from the back of the hotel. Saw a wild kangaroo hop past! Overall, it was a lovely eco-friendly healing getaway But the food: SO GOOD. The chef tries to source organic and local produce so... More

We booked in for a 2 night stay in a standard room. It was so small it didn't even have a cupboard to put clothes in and we had to step over our suitcases to get to the ensuite. Could have been cleaner with bugs in the sink, shower areas and on pillows. Noisy as our room was below the... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in an executive suite. The bedroom was huge! There was also a decent sized sitting room, a kitchenette & a large bathroom. The organic shampoo & conditioner was a nice touch. We arrived quite late on the Friday night & decided to eat in. What a pleasant surprise! The food was absolutely delicious! We... More

For those looking for somewhere really peaceful and in a beautiful setting you can't go wrong. It's only just over 1 hour drive from Melbourne. I wa a bit in trepidation after reading some earlier comments but our experience was the room was fine and everything was clean and comfortable including the bathroom. No there is no tv in the...
