We stopped for lunch today. Young staff, doing a good job. Had the lunch special, $29 for 2 courses and a glass of wine. Tasty pate and skinny baguette, yum. Then really good barra and chips. Great view and I'm in awe of the beautiful dining room. Large, French provincial style, with polished copper pots and dressers of white crockery.... More

Been there for lunch on a sunday. Food is very classic but of very good quality. Fish is fresh and the "fish and chips" we have for the children was excellent. Nice staff, excellent position, enough parking. Prices a little bit high Worth to come back anyhow

This is a very good hotel and has been beautifully restored. The food is above average pub food, tasty and well presented . The service is friendly and competent. Of the hotels in Mornington this is probably the best located overlooking the water, with ample parking and above average hotel food. I have been here a few times and will... More

A lunch stop at this Hotel for Lunch proved to be a great move. Hotel is situated opposite the Bay and is geared for quality diners. Plentiful outdoor seating is available as well as inside and verandah. We were seated at a table near a window and were served with a plentiful wine list and a lunch time menu. All... More

A fabulous location opposite the bay - beautiful views and a lovely historic pub that has been lovingly restored. Great vibe, loved our room with its balcony and the beer garden and bistro had great service and good food. A great spot for a getaway!

Exploring the area and found the Hotel on a busy market day Wednesday. The atmosphere, food and service were excellent. I only wish this place was local to us, it'd be a regular haunt. Cannot fault anything in the dining experience we had.

We regularly eat at the Grand Hotel and have not had a bad experience. Amazing location, friendly service. Have also stayed overnight one night - room was spacious and comfortable, with a great private balcony and view.

We stayed here for the Australia day weekeend. The hotel is upstairs with no formal reception, in fact the reception thought we were there for lunch. We we were checked in through the upstairs office. The room has amazing views of the sea and had a nice ambience. The only issue we had was the bathroom was slightly grimy, the... More

Only stayed one night but thoroughly enjoyed it. The Premium Suite was compact but well-appointed and it had private access to the balcony with sweeping views of the bay, even a distant Melbourne skyline. After a drink on the downstairs verandah, we enjoyed dinner in the restaurant. Service was very good. The hotel is within easy walking distance to the... More

We recently decided to get out of Melbourne for the weekend and headed only 1 hour from town to Mornington. We stopped for dinner at the Royal Hotel and we can't speak highly enough about the food and especially the service. Our waitress Catherine went the extra mile for us and made our experience very enjoyable and we will certainly... More
