S37°32.114' E149°44.555' before you enter Mallacoota village, turn left and while you park your car, you will notice the marvellous view over the Mallacoota Inlet. The water is salty, but according the Russell - the owner - has no resident sharks. We went for a swim from the beach nearby and suffered no attack. The lodge has eleven nicely decorated... More

Stay here just for the view from the dining room and guests' lounge room: breathtaking across the water! Lovely breakfast and friendly advice about walks in the area. A resident koala too. All this makes up for the school camp feel of the basic bedrooms, although when new owners come in (it's for sale) they are bound to spruce those... More

Location and view is beautiful. Atmosphere is relaxed and informal. Lodge's veranda, living room with fireplace and bookshelf, and breakfast room are lovely. Room facilities are basic. Parking and Wi-Fi available from living room. Great for couples, families and tourists looking for Australia nature.

This is the best place we visited in Australia. The old house itself is beautifully kept with dark wooden floors, a huge antique table in the diningroom and comfy chairs in the livingroom. The veranda gives you a great view on the lake. We were tempted to spend the whole day just sitting there watching the pelicans. We felt very... More

We decided stay around Mallacoota for a few days and decided on Karbeethong Lodge as our residence, we chose a front room with a view over the lake - a good decision, the view was terrific. Sitting on the verandah , or in the dining room or lounge all with fantastic views over the lake is wonderful. It probably does... More

We came down to Mallacoota for a family gathering and decided to stay at Karbeethong Lodge. Upon arrival we were cheerfully greeted by Russell, who was the owner and had stayed up till late hours awaiting our arrival (as we got caught in bad weather on the way). But rest assured, despite the few rainy days, our trip was one... More

Contrary to anything you read from Donna below. The fact this visitor can say "there is nothing to do in Mallacoota" and "no TV" says it all. No it's not the Hilton but that's just the point. It is so rare nowadays to find a place without TV, forcing you to read a book or God forbid have a conversation... More

We were very comfortable in this relaxed and serene setting. As bird lovers, we were delighted to see Gallahs, King Parrots, Eastern Rosellas, Wedged Tail Eagle, etc., from the porch. At twilight, a great surprise was to see multitudes of Fruit Bats sailing silently overhead. We loved cooking in the communal kitchen and sharing stories/experiences with other guest at the... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights. Host, Russell, very helpful in replacing things that did not work, i.e. One side of the electric blanket . Also in suggesting things to do,taking one of the coastal walks, absolutely lovely! not much to do in Mallacoota Inlet, just enjoying the view from the very large verandah . Also suggested was a 2.30 hour... More

Awesome view (ask for a room at the front) over the lake, small but cosy rooms, very good shower! and lovely breakfast included. Really cosy atmosphere inside and out, with beautiful breakfast table, cosy chairs and all. Don't expect a tv and entertainment, but come here to relax and enjoy the view. The owner/host is very welcoming and thoughtful. Really,... More
