If you want a taste of the country with good honest food, this is a great start. Roaring open fire, great menu selection (even main and sweet for $18). Bruce the publican cooks, lots of genuine Irish dishes, all served with a happy smile. Steaks melted in your mouth. We didn't stay there, just ate and enjoyed the hospitality

Just down the hill from the Tower Hill reserve full of emu, koala and kangaroo, with an aboriginal shop selling original artwork near the last volcano, Wendy and Bruce run this wonderful old Ettamagoogah style pub serving hearty meals and the best Guiness on tap I've tasted. pub serving real hearty meals and the best Guiness on tap I've tasted.

Visited this pub for dinner last week as it was recommended to us by a friend. We were staying in Port Fairy and it was well worth the visit. Loved the ambience of this old pub with it's very old decor and Irish music. The prices are very reasonable, we both had the Rib eye and it just melted in... More

Good pub meals and excent Thai restaurant nearby.. lovely week! Wendy the hostess is welcoming, friendly and helpful. Bar staff similarly so. Lots of historic and fascinating posters around the walls Check out... More

During a quiet meander around the Western District we had decided on lunch at an old fashioned pub. We had been to a takeaway in Koroit before and enjoyed the food and service so now to see how the pub would stack up. We were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, decor and service in this old fashioned hotel in the... More

The staff were very friendly. You could spend hours there reading the walls. We had lunch there, my husband, which is very much unlike him, decided to have the Parma. It was dry and I must admit, myself who loves "pub grub" wasn't impressed by the look of it. Myself, I decided to go for the fishermans basket...... Yep, it... More

Called in here January 2014 for a drink and snack. Very pleasant and interesting surrounds-you can spend quite a long time reading all the things on the walls of the bar wall. Nice service and snack average.Would like to try the meals next time I am down this way.
