On arrival the room was clean and bed made with towels and soap only. The room itself being an old 1856 building has many cracks and paint work peeling. The bed itself was ok (wasn't a hammock). Shared amenities so if your in a rush for the john, and its being used your in trouble. not keen on shared amenities.... More

Myself and 7 others had gone up to Heathcote from Melbourne for a couple of rounds of Golf. We had no intensions of staying, just a day trip. We stopped into the Commercial at 8pm for dinner, but they had just closed down the Kitchen, so we had a couple of drinks in their bar. As the drinks were going... More

This hotel is not the high end of over night accommodation but is OK a place to stay, especially when the band is not playing. It's basic but typical of a small town hotel at a typical price point. The facilities are basic but sufficient with comfy beds and a place the make breakfast, they offer meals that are worth... More

The service is very rude, the kitchen people often swear and say bad things about each other, food takes far too long to arrive, place looks tired, unclean and the food is average. I don't recommend a meal at this pub.

Stayed here for one night while on a cycling tour in the area. The staff were very helpful and found a secure place to store my bike. The room was clean as were the shared bathroom and kitchen, basic but clean. Would stay here again if in the area.

The bedrooms at the Union Hotel are a serious fire safety risk. The exit plan on the back of my bedroom door showed three fire exits, two of them were completely blocked and the third was obstructed. I have reported this to the Bendigo Council who informed me that the Union Hotel is currently subject to a building notice. They... More

My husband and i recently visited the Union Hotel as a guest to a friends surprise 50th birthday. At this event there were approximately 80 people. You could see that the owners were fixing the place up, their balcony was getting fixed which was a bit of a pain in the bum we couldn't use it as we were staying... More
